[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_05]: Thank you. Thank you, we've had.
[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_02]: So, okay, so the real deal. Why are we here tonight?
[00:02:01] [SPEAKER_02]: We're here because we're super excited about what's going to happen on October 3rd,
[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_02]: which is going to be the women of trek for Kamala Harris, right?
[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Right. So joining us tonight, we're going to have Ms. Monny Moseman,
[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_02]: okay, oh sorry, who portrays cultured woman in TNG episode loud as a whisper and you
[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_02]: might know her husband and Ms. Kitty Swink and you might know her y'all portrayed Ms.
[00:02:37] [SPEAKER_02]: the bejorn minister of rosan in DS9 episode, Sanctuary, which was one of my favorites
[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_02]: and you might know her husband as well. But we know these two women by themselves and we love them
[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_02]: very dearly. And you know the others. Yeah, another step to the wind, right? Yep.
[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, the brain. That's the brain. That was cool. Yeah.
[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Welcome to the show, ladies. Thank you so much. We also have joining us tonight
[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_02]: one our dear favorite little sis Ashley Shark Chestnut.
[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sitting Sydney LeForge, just start trek for card, hi, hi Ashley. Hi.
[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And our favorite favorite favorite favorite favorite actress,
[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_02]: she's like, I mean, she's my heart. She's right. I get out like, I'm sorry. I still get a little
[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_02]: tongue tag. It's Michelle Herd y'all. This is still like about fourth time talking to you and I still
[00:03:42] [SPEAKER_02]: go. You know, just like it's just that this one represented me on the screen. Yeah. And I'm
[00:03:52] [SPEAKER_02]: growing my hair back out with shelves. This one, we're going to grab a cat to try to grow my crown out
[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_08]: of it. Yeah. That's no, I have to tell you that I said to the ladies on the phone the other day
[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_08]: that if they really wanted to get to know you, they had to walk the picket line with you. I heard
[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_03]: it's an excellent name. You'll know exactly who I am. Yeah. So, y'all, this is a huge deal that
[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_02]: what started off as like excitement, right? As soon as the announcement was made as soon as the
[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_02]: president Biden said, hey, I'm going to pass this torch to Kamala Harris and we all wait. Yeah.
[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_02]: And then, right? And then everybody I know collectively in the truck community was like, okay,
[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_02]: what are we going to do? Yeah. Exactly. What are we going to do? But Kitty and Manny, you guys got
[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_00]: organized. Lickety split. Right? We tried. We, it was, I had this thought I thought, okay, so
[00:04:55] [SPEAKER_00]: what can I do besides the postcards and going grow to do or all that stuff, which in California is a
[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_00]: little not so great because you are all on the same side seems like. So, a couple of who was the
[00:05:09] [SPEAKER_00]: most powerful group of women that I know and I thought, oh, come Anders, the women who were in charge,
[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_00]: all of those things, the truck that what? I know a lot of those women and then I called Kitty and I said,
[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_00]: I think we should do this. She came over and we sat down and came up with, sees the moment to make it
[00:05:30] [SPEAKER_08]: up. Yeah. No, we're not like, we're not like, we're like emails and one text and the first person I
[00:05:37] [SPEAKER_08]: heard back from was Michelle heard because I texted you. Yes. Boom. Yeah, because she's a goddess
[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_08]: and there she is. And you guys started it just recently started introducing me to people which is
[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_08]: how we met Ashley. Thank you for coming. Thank you. Yes. Yes. Yes.
[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not having me. Yes. And there was a police guy who could do a lot from there, you know,
[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_08]: people hear about like, oh, I want to go eat it. So it's a great effort every day, more people are going
[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_08]: up. Can I join and we say, please, we want you, we just do not get a hold of you. So, yeah.
[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_03]: There's no way that I couldn't respond to you, Kitty. You always have such good, you know,
[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_03]: the mission and your heart and what you do is so strong and we're all on the same page here. It's
[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_03]: super important for us all to have our voices be heard, get out there, register votes. We got
[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_03]: a tell-to friends and so on and so on. You know what I was thinking the other day that how kind of
[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_03]: crazy this situation is, that this is probably the only way that we could have and I'm perhaps
[00:06:41] [SPEAKER_03]: like, I won't jinx it. Getting as close as we can to getting a female in the presidency
[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_03]: by this means because we saw what happened to Hillary. We know that every time that we a female
[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_03]: gets up there, they spend so much time just trying to beat us down, take us out whatever and, you
[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_03]: know, thanks for Biden's grace and his generosity that he stepped aside and handed that mantle
[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_03]: and that we had just like 100 days. This is the reason that we are getting so far because this country
[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_03]: is, well, she laid to the table right now. She fell late on getting a leader and it's passed
[00:07:21] [SPEAKER_03]: time and I think this because we had such a truncated amount of time, this was the way that we had to
[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_00]: break that ceiling. Yeah. And thank God for having the faith in her that a lot of a lot of people
[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_00]: did not because she'd really fulfilled that role of Vice President so well in supporting and being there
[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_00]: as women frequently do. And so she just didn't get the credit that she deserved. I, yeah,
[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_00]: so anyway it was terribly exciting. Yeah, I knew she'd been going around doing a lot of
[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_00]: universities and share a huge following among the young people and I would say that they go, no,
[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_00]: let all things up. I mean, like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I know a lot of people,
[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_09]: like younger people are getting really excited. Like, I know a lot of people these in my sort of
[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_09]: goal are like actually excited about a candidate. It doesn't feel like, I mean, yes, there's an
[00:08:13] [SPEAKER_09]: necessity for us. We have to vote, but there is an essence of extra urgency for this specific
[00:08:18] [SPEAKER_09]: election, which I'm feeling like with my fellow millennials. We have a real, a little person with us
[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_05]: right there. I, you know, I actually be in here is great and the millennials are really into
[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_05]: I have a millennial that I birthed and they're actually, I mean, they're really into this election,
[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_05]: which I'm so happy about. But what I'm really happy about is I also have those other ones,
[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_05]: I think they're called, what are they? Gen Z and Z that were I have those two and they are
[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_05]: but they're excited, but you know them, they're always doing something. You know, they got TikToks.
[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_05]: They were sitting in the end just before the thing. They made a TikTok about, you know, the
[00:09:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Kamala and you know, something about Tim, it was like something Tim, Tim, Tim,
[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_05]: Tim, Tim. I was like, all right, whatever, just go for it, you know, but I think everybody's
[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_05]: just so excited because she brings so much joy to the table. We're not forced, you know, and I think
[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_05]: that's why I think as Star Trek fans, we love joy because I mean, going hard-trick and whole,
[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_05]: how old are you? Right, and then the Gen Z, there were bomb kids. They don't get why,
[00:09:48] [SPEAKER_05]: their parents are so like, oh my God, this is so great. They're like, yeah, this is what's supposed
[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_05]: to happen. They don't get why we're still getting it, but they never forgets normalize for them,
[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_05]: which is so normalized for them. I think we're in good hands, honestly. I really do.
[00:10:04] [SPEAKER_08]: I think we're in great hands. The other thing about the kids are doing that kills me is the
[00:10:11] [SPEAKER_08]: angry as I am, as about the eating the cats and eating the dogs, I go to TikTok
[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_08]: and I find it's Derek Weft on EAS, with historical, yes, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_08]: from Pungy De Vans videos and they make me go, okay, maybe I can sleep tonight. Yeah, yeah,
[00:10:31] [SPEAKER_03]: it's a tragedy that we, that our ex-president is getting away with so much dangerous dangerous.
[00:10:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Quite violent speech, you know, right now they're all saying, oh the Democrats,
[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_03]: it's our fault that there's been assassination attempts and you want to go, no my friends,
[00:10:58] [SPEAKER_03]: kids, what you are saying to people, you can't dream us because somebody doesn't like you.
[00:11:05] [SPEAKER_03]: We have to come down, I mean if we go through the past 12 years and put up a little
[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_03]: tale of all the negative aggressive violent, misogynistic racist xenophobic, but at least
[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_03]: things that these individuals have said, they have done no type of apology or our ownership of that,
[00:11:29] [SPEAKER_03]: you're getting permission for all of that. They basically needed okay, yeah, I mean I
[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_03]: remember back in the day, you know, we had Democrats Republicans and we could have polite discourse
[00:11:43] [SPEAKER_01]: very much so. Yeah, I mean this is about something, something other than cats and dogs,
[00:11:52] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean this was about things that really have to be dealt with and talked about,
[00:11:57] [SPEAKER_01]: not this foolishness, which is what I think a lot of people are looking for,
[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_01]: what the aristic is that please take us away from this foolishness, the waste and so much time.
[00:12:08] [SPEAKER_01]: You know we've got really serious problems. Really serious problem. But I think that's the key
[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_02]: now too, is it, you know, for the past week we've been talking about cats and dogs, right? And
[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_02]: about the, and it was a really good tactic to get us away from the issues with hate that he's
[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_02]: really weak on, which is abortion, you know, and the women's right to choose, and which is like so
[00:12:33] [SPEAKER_02]: like I think like okay we had our fun with the cats and the dogs but if we stay focused on what art
[00:12:39] [SPEAKER_02]: shoes are like you can't, can't let the crazy derail us all the time. Like he has going to be crazy
[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_09]: every day. You're point on that, I think currently as the millennial young person it's just nuts
[00:12:53] [SPEAKER_09]: to me that my mom had more reproductive rights than I do. It's just nuts to be about how
[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_09]: like Republicans are criminalizing women and doctors for abortions and IVF fertility treatments
[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_09]: when even today Republicans blocked the IVF protections. Yes they did. And to say that like
[00:13:12] [SPEAKER_09]: Republicans are pro life or they speak for pro life folks but vote against bills to help working
[00:13:18] [SPEAKER_09]: families, you know like head start free lunches or even after school programs and are fighting
[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_09]: against Obamacare insurance is just wild. The plan we got a plan, we got a plan, we're working on
[00:13:29] [SPEAKER_00]: the plan. When you see those lately people have been posting pictures of the 50s in Iran
[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_00]: the Indian Afghanistan and the women are in short skirts and they're walking around. Like
[00:13:41] [SPEAKER_00]: some of the rooms it was the 50s and now it's week time. They've just completely reversed it.
[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_03]: And because I feel like I need to say whenever I'm in any platform abortion is a issue between
[00:13:58] [SPEAKER_03]: a woman and their doctor. Okay, no bear. Don't ask me about how many weeks
[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't don't ask me. Don't ask me. Don't shit like that. It has nothing to do with that.
[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_03]: It has nothing to do with anybody else except for this individual and their doctor.
[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Period and discussion and can we just put this to rest there is no such thing as a nine month
[00:14:25] [SPEAKER_03]: abortion. Thank you. Thank you. And why is that not be this? I listen to this man say,
[00:14:32] [SPEAKER_03]: I listen to this man say, well there are some places where the child is born and the child's
[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_03]: put out outside and the doctor goes over to the mom and says, do you want to keep it or not okay?
[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_05]: You don't and we kill it bullshit. That's called murder first of all. That's called this
[00:14:53] [SPEAKER_05]: the bullet anywhere. I love how they're being monitored and for such a series about this.
[00:14:59] [SPEAKER_03]: I have a friend, my dear friend who had two late term abortions, one at five and a half
[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_03]: and one at seven and a half. They impind out until the second one that these two individuals
[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_03]: in the medical history books there's like our medical books there's one page on this phenomenon.
[00:15:20] [SPEAKER_03]: These two individuals, cromans only are not capable of creating a feasible pregnancy.
[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_03]: They didn't find this in the most. I don't have much. Do you guys understand that this woman
[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_03]: those are two of her babies? Yeah. Those were two of her babies. Her sons
[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_03]: that she named and buried. She had no desire whatsoever to have to go through that procedure.
[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_03]: But it was a necessity to keep her alive. Not to mention the fact that she would have given birth to a
[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_03]: a baby whose brain was outside of their body. This is the truth. This is why we have such a procedure.
[00:16:09] [SPEAKER_03]: It's not being somebody just like kicking back and all of a sudden that eight months pregnant. You know what?
[00:16:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Now, the true important thing. Right. I just realized I don't want to be a mama. I'm a call somebody.
[00:16:20] [SPEAKER_05]: No, I'm going at work. It doesn't work that way. It doesn't work that way.
[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_03]: And we need to still keep speaking this because we got to defend it. Nobody defends it. I see them.
[00:16:29] [SPEAKER_03]: People say it doesn't happen. It's not true and when it happens, it is for a life or death situation
[00:16:34] [SPEAKER_03]: and anyone who has gone through it is suffering. That's right. That was a thing to say.
[00:16:40] [SPEAKER_05]: I think that's a Linda had it, right? Stop calling her abortion and start calling her health care.
[00:16:47] [SPEAKER_00]: They've approached it as so smart that it's healthcare and it's also keep emphasizing
[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_00]: the government does not belong in your doctor's office. Right. Right. That's so right.
[00:16:59] [SPEAKER_08]: That's right. I was the day after the dog's decision was leaked, I went to protest with some friends.
[00:17:07] [SPEAKER_08]: Jonathan Drake's daughter Eliza showed up with eight of her friends and I'm standing to a woman who's 75 years old.
[00:17:13] [SPEAKER_08]: And she said, I was protesting this in 1973 and I said, so was I.
[00:17:18] [SPEAKER_08]: So was I. And she, you sure don't have said WTFGOP get out of my bedroom.
[00:17:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly. Yeah. Thank you. And can also, can we also just
[00:17:29] [SPEAKER_03]: rack our brains right now and figure out what is the procedure that a man has to go through
[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_03]: that the government gets to weigh in on? Can y'all give me a little hint here? Anybody have any
[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_05]: absolutely nothing. Nothing.
[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_08]: Another they can use anything that helps them, you know those pills that help them get it up. I can't remember
[00:17:48] [SPEAKER_07]: there's something I have.
[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Anything.
[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm not going to be. You know, is it via the cover by healthcare? Yes.
[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_06]: Actually, Adam Virginia they stopped. But I'm still feeling it.
[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_05]: And that is definitely was. Yeah.
[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_06]: Generic was because of the cost like a hundred and some dollar per feel.
[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_02]: But you can still get a generator. But you can still get a generator.
[00:18:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't tell her. Okay. But in some places, it is covered though.
[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. I know.
[00:18:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I was wondering why are the sector means allowed? I mean, it's kind of the same thing. You're
[00:18:26] [SPEAKER_00]: preventing a baby being right? They seem to be just fine. Right.
[00:18:31] [SPEAKER_08]: I wanted to get rid of most birth control. So, you know.
[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, I think that's the detail a man that they can't, I don't know how to say it without being
[00:18:41] [SPEAKER_03]: inappropriate. If they're masturbating, they're committing genocide for, you know.
[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_03]: So, there. Yeah. You can't believe the war. Y'all can't pledge yourself no more.
[00:18:52] [SPEAKER_08]: Sorry. I'm not a major. I think you did that really well, Michelle. Thank you.
[00:18:56] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. That was wonderful.
[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_08]: You guys know what? Let's do it.
[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, that's just based in the 80s.
[00:19:03] [SPEAKER_07]: That is an even there.
[00:19:05] [SPEAKER_07]: That's a lot of people.
[00:19:07] [SPEAKER_07]: You know, too.
[00:19:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that that's the heart of the matter though is one of the things that we're getting to
[00:19:16] [SPEAKER_02]: the fact that this is very much of a war on women.
[00:19:21] [SPEAKER_02]: All of these things that we're picking apart is the fact that they do not value us as human beings,
[00:19:29] [SPEAKER_02]: you know, which we as black people, we get that. Like we've been there. We've not found it.
[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Like we know this mess. You know? Like we live in people and it's a, and it's a
[00:19:46] [SPEAKER_02]: happening now of what I'm hoping is mobilizing is that a lot of women who have not lived
[00:19:53] [SPEAKER_02]: that type of generational trauma are getting to understand what that threat to your
[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_02]: existence feels like for once and hopefully that will motivate them to get out to the polls.
[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that's what I hope. Yeah, I really hope that because I know
[00:20:12] [SPEAKER_05]: for black women, this, you know, this is the life we live not lived live and we need everyone to
[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_05]: understand and feel it. You're finally feeling what we live and just have to keep going on with.
[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_05]: And now everyone is feeling that every race, if you're the same gender, we're finally feeling
[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_05]: this stuff together and hopefully we'll stick together because as women, we, we're always ready.
[00:20:42] [SPEAKER_05]: I know black women as we said in our last park as you always ready. You ready for whatever comes.
[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_05]: If a bad good and different, that's right. We're ready. Because I think it was on our last
[00:20:54] [SPEAKER_05]: park. Our guests, Samara, small woods and more, you have small woods. You had to be ready.
[00:21:02] [SPEAKER_05]: If the only way you're going to get white women for Kamala, pets for Kamala, show why was
[00:21:07] [SPEAKER_05]: for Kamala, that's the only way all of that was going to happen if you was ready. You knew what
[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_05]: was coming and now we know it was coming so we have to be ready. And I think that's why
[00:21:17] [SPEAKER_05]: we loved when Kitty and Marnea approached us for this event coming up on 10, 3.
[00:21:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Star Trek women, Star Trek as a whole and then the women that we grew up
[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_05]: grew up with who showed us what the future was going to be like. When Sabrina and
[00:21:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Fran saw the shell on the enterprise and all the men, the all the white men were talking to her
[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_05]: as she was an equal, that's where that's what Star Trek women are all about. It's just a marriage
[00:21:54] [SPEAKER_05]: made in heaven. So I just wanted to make sure we understood what we're here for that we have to
[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_05]: we have to stay strong, we have to stay together, everybody in the chat. I know you guys are all
[00:22:09] [SPEAKER_05]: going in on this and having a great time about it but we got to be serious too because
[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_05]: I think Marnea said it or the kitty said it. Every little every vote counts. Every little action count
[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_05]: you're and told from today until voting day, everything you do counts. We got to get out there
[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_05]: and vote. Vote happy. Don't listen to the the white noise around you. Just get out there and get
[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_05]: people registered. Let people know that you know is joy we can have joyful discord.
[00:22:44] [SPEAKER_02]: And we should be joy in this moment. You know like as much a play election coming on
[00:22:50] [SPEAKER_02]: election. It's also going to get historical context right? Yeah, it's much craziness is going
[00:22:56] [SPEAKER_02]: yackity yackity yackity yackity yackity over here. Like we've got all this history for women and black
[00:23:03] [SPEAKER_02]: folks and everybody else who has ever disenfranchised in this country to have the right to do this.
[00:23:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I feel like voting should always be a national holiday and I feel like we're in every time
[00:23:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I go to vote. I might as well be in New Orleans in a second line parade or something because that's
[00:23:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like I'm like do you do it as an assistant to roles and I'm dancing out of the polls because
[00:23:25] [SPEAKER_02]: it's a good thing that I get to do. I have the privilege to do to cast my ballot right? Yeah,
[00:23:32] [SPEAKER_02]: and all the problems with our you know that with the electoral college and all that stuff aside
[00:23:38] [SPEAKER_02]: many countries I would not have the right to do this or even if I did it meant it would mean nothing
[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_02]: right. Yeah, you know so I feel like you know we shouldn't be afraid of joy and I feel like what
[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_02]: you know if what what negative small minded mean-hearted people cannot fight against is love and joy
[00:23:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like love and joy is far more infectious than being spirit at niss and small mindedness
[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_03]: you know what's a good point there is that we will and that is what what come la and and walls have
[00:24:14] [SPEAKER_03]: are leading with joy and love. You find that you are interacting with people who are not leading with love
[00:24:22] [SPEAKER_03]: ask yourself why why are you following them? Yeah, when somebody is rhetoric,
[00:24:27] [SPEAKER_03]: when somebody continually says negative things about people when they say you know
[00:24:33] [SPEAKER_03]: cruel things hurtful things when they're diminishing a group of humans of people
[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_03]: ask yourself a question there because that is not love, that is not step-ins, that is not kindness.
[00:24:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Do you want to be associated with that? Let's get real now because when you vote for someone like that
[00:24:52] [SPEAKER_03]: you are supporting that you are supporting that in one of the most powerful positions in our country
[00:24:59] [SPEAKER_03]: you are supporting that let's ask yourself and if you don't vote at all you're supporting that.
[00:25:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Your vote is needed on the other side that it's like having an anest to be a part
[00:25:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to ask actually as as as the only person here who is kind of from a different generation
[00:25:17] [SPEAKER_00]: I keep hearing younger people, some younger people saying, you know my vote doesn't really matter
[00:25:25] [SPEAKER_00]: there seems to be a kind of an unwee about it all not for everybody but do you find that very much?
[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_09]: I'm hoping this not true. Not at least not in my personal circle now we all
[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_09]: were already to vote and vote but I think most importantly it's not just that we vote every four
[00:25:43] [SPEAKER_09]: years we vote every couple of years for a little extra. That's key. And I think to a part of the
[00:25:54] [SPEAKER_09]: years or why hasn't she done anything and I think that's what we're talking point is it's just
[00:26:00] [SPEAKER_09]: because you all it's just like a quick success in. Oh yes. Did you go to civil class?
[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_03]: You were work at the White House, you all didn't know she was right. I'm like what did
[00:26:19] [SPEAKER_05]: she did? I mean, I'm like, come on yeah, come on. But I just hear people say what is she done?
[00:26:28] [SPEAKER_05]: She's had the power. Like did you go to civil class? That's not the way it works.
[00:26:38] [SPEAKER_09]: More about the dance. No male friends that have never had dance are really.
[00:26:42] [SPEAKER_09]: What do you say actually? Oh sorry I didn't know if I was talking to them.
[00:26:44] [SPEAKER_09]: But I was saying like when they you're even when they're like I need to know more about
[00:26:48] [SPEAKER_09]: Kamala it just makes you wonder why the witness test for her so high when I've been
[00:26:53] [SPEAKER_09]: she'll possibly be the test but it just wouldn't literally there's a convicted felon that she's running
[00:26:59] [SPEAKER_00]: against. I'm glad you saw it. She said a lot and if you really want the nitty gritty it's all on
[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_00]: website you click the little button and it opens up and tells you google is your friend. What but how?
[00:27:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Well I mean in a very young way this sort of reveal itself doesn't it? I mean the people who are
[00:27:22] [SPEAKER_03]: saying what is she done you know where she did not have that stuff. I mean let's just be real
[00:27:27] [SPEAKER_03]: those are people who are trying to present as if they don't know and that they're undecided
[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_03]: we all know because absolutely if you don't know if you're not sure
[00:27:38] [SPEAKER_03]: and yet you find yourself leaning towards someone who's an election to lot denier, who had
[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_03]: cited an interaction, who said that they were grat he could who literally brad about
[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_03]: molesting people when you say all right woman by her pussy or arguing about molesting someone.
[00:27:59] [SPEAKER_03]: So if you're not sure what Kamala is doing but I'm going to go with this guy then your this
[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_08]: that bullshit I had a young man probably 30 say to me well you know I I'd really like a true
[00:28:10] [SPEAKER_08]: progressive I said okay wait a minute. What you don't want to get rid of my mouth after that
[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_08]: because they would have to take us up the internet. I mean I'll turn it live to you not voting
[00:28:28] [SPEAKER_08]: for somebody who don't consider a true progressive is that you're going to get Donald Trump
[00:28:32] [SPEAKER_08]: come on wake up in snow the coffee there are a lot of people fired him
[00:28:43] [SPEAKER_06]: 81 million people say that's right still still hold it on to that
[00:28:55] [SPEAKER_08]: this line of the whole night and that was a great one and it was factual
[00:29:02] [SPEAKER_01]: it was not a cloud size that we were not going to say what's that crowd but always
[00:29:08] [SPEAKER_03]: can do I find my mind bogging is because I'm a native New Yorker you know born and raised in
[00:29:14] [SPEAKER_03]: New York City and all of us New Yorkers oh boy yeah no we're remembering no him yes we remember
[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_03]: like literally the outside voice not inside denied black people to be able to live in
[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_03]: his houses most witness Trump bankrupt every single thing he yes every single one that
[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_05]: heads his name is a big coin company yesterday yeah well but I I've told the sisters this so many times
[00:29:49] [SPEAKER_05]: I was a I was a teenager when those five boys and they were boys yes these were children
[00:29:56] [SPEAKER_05]: he put out a full page ad asking for the execution of five boys
[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_05]: they weren't teenagers but they were still minors they were children back the
[00:30:12] [SPEAKER_05]: Central Park five and now they're exonerated five and you know I grew up with this man
[00:30:21] [SPEAKER_05]: and all his nonsense and he when I saw him running for president I was like you've got to be kidding me
[00:30:29] [SPEAKER_05]: you know because I know he whatever he stands for has nothing to do with anything good no
[00:30:35] [SPEAKER_05]: and he's been a racist since I was a little not a little kid both says I was a teenager I
[00:30:41] [SPEAKER_05]: know him and he has been a racist so nothing has changed so I don't care what people say about
[00:30:47] [SPEAKER_05]: oh he's not a racist he's just he just wants America to go back yeah he wants to go back to the
[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_05]: times when it was okay to be a racist really you know it's a little time to just have to be out there
[00:30:57] [SPEAKER_02]: picking some cotton that's what yeah yeah yeah he wants his barefoot and pregnant that's what he wants
[00:31:02] [SPEAKER_02]: like make no mistake folks this man you know what anything good for anybody like that's in our crew
[00:31:10] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah I think sometimes when I was a kid I think I'm probably the oldest one here
[00:31:20] [SPEAKER_00]: there was no title nine yeah there was no title nine there was no title nine there was no
[00:31:25] [SPEAKER_00]: the sports in schools for girls not my girl you could be a cheerleader that was your sport
[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_00]: when it was skirts you had to be you know I mean it was it was it was a complete that was the
[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_00]: 50's your mother couldn't have a credit card in her own success oh yeah I couldn't relax
[00:31:45] [SPEAKER_06]: all past the school until I got an adjive grade yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah okay see
[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_06]: no that you were about five yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah well I went to Catholic schools
[00:32:05] [SPEAKER_00]: it was a skirt all the way so skirt but my skirt over you know yeah crazy
[00:32:19] [SPEAKER_06]: oh it was ready and it only made my head thought that was what's best was because my school
[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_06]: was three floors my house was two years old you know many dresses the boy is the
[00:32:40] [SPEAKER_06]: we look up our skirts and we can and we can explain about our skirts being social and so they said
[00:32:46] [SPEAKER_06]: okay you can wear slacks our pants so no jeans you know well I thought I sent it a
[00:32:54] [SPEAKER_06]: preface of it was of course you did okay my dear each column done the reads she called
[00:33:03] [SPEAKER_06]: I said it's no and he told me get her and then they'll wait and go to your next life
[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_08]: and I was so tall and skinny and your skirt couldn't be more than a certain number of
[00:33:14] [SPEAKER_08]: inches above your knees so in order to get something that fit me I would have to kneel on the
[00:33:19] [SPEAKER_08]: ground and I got sent home more than once in my mom said what do you want me to do like
[00:33:23] [SPEAKER_08]: bike clothes and then so stuff on the bottom of it just didn't make them long enough for me
[00:33:34] [SPEAKER_02]: this is what this is the whole point of this is what we're talking about this is not going back
[00:33:42] [SPEAKER_02]: you know on October 3rd if everybody joins us on October 3rd we're going to have a spectacular
[00:33:50] [SPEAKER_02]: night you guys want to talk a little bit about what's planned yeah well very exciting we've got two
[00:33:59] [SPEAKER_00]: people that I'm really excited to meet and in well in person over the stage the Abrams and
[00:34:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Cory Booker yay so between the two of them I think it'll be pretty exciting we may have a few others
[00:34:12] [SPEAKER_00]: as well we hope but just with the two of them would be great and we'll have plan at this point is to
[00:34:21] [SPEAKER_00]: have a pat to panels with Stacy so that she's kind of asking the questions and so forth and so
[00:34:30] [SPEAKER_00]: we'll have maybe five or six of the you all Michelle and Ashley with Stacy on the screen
[00:34:40] [SPEAKER_00]: talking about well the first one might be about making sure everybody is registered and knows how to
[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_00]: vote the second panel might be more about donating and volunteering yeah but then on top of that we
[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_08]: wanted to bring this high-fifth sisters in and have them give us like five minutes because Star Trek
[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_08]: community and it's not just Michelle and Ashley or even the two of us it's about the world
[00:35:06] [SPEAKER_08]: of the Star Trek community and so we want to do guys to come on and talk about that because you're
[00:35:12] [SPEAKER_08]: such a part of the community and such leaders in that community that I know when I call you guys
[00:35:18] [SPEAKER_08]: I knew you would like get the bowed out you would get bowed out yeah the the the the effect of all
[00:35:26] [SPEAKER_00]: this will be amplified if everybody can not only go vote but take five people with them yeah
[00:35:33] [SPEAKER_00]: you know so and it is hard to talk to people sometimes about this because you get so passionate
[00:35:39] [SPEAKER_00]: and you know but I think it's really important that people have the confidence to go and talk to their friends
[00:35:46] [SPEAKER_08]: and find out what they're planning to do and something that I was reminded of today I was
[00:35:52] [SPEAKER_08]: listening to NPR and they were doing a quiz and I went oh I know the answer that there is no
[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_08]: state in the union where that you get there and they say well your registrations are on that you
[00:36:00] [SPEAKER_08]: can't ask for provisional ballot that's right that's right you're not supposed to be turned away
[00:36:08] [SPEAKER_08]: maybe you know you're not here ask for the provisional ballot yeah that's right
[00:36:14] [SPEAKER_03]: and doesn't it be talking about that on the third yeah and a really important thing is you know
[00:36:19] [SPEAKER_03]: there's we know what the basis we know what his basis right we got we know that that's
[00:36:24] [SPEAKER_03]: strong so I'm going to where it's so important to get people who have never voted to
[00:36:28] [SPEAKER_03]: get to the police talk to them tell them that they they're both really does matter you know
[00:36:35] [SPEAKER_03]: I do my I do my darn is when I reach out to my Republican friends and I do believe that we
[00:36:40] [SPEAKER_03]: have to do that because we're all on this one people a little proud planet yeah there and we
[00:36:44] [SPEAKER_03]: have to learn how to work together and I have many Republican friends that we are still you know
[00:36:50] [SPEAKER_03]: we are friends and we we will you know delicately go through conversations but at a certain point
[00:36:56] [SPEAKER_03]: you have to realize you have to read the room you know who you can change and you know you who you
[00:37:00] [SPEAKER_03]: can't I'm not going to waste any of my energy to get myself frustrated on people who are not
[00:37:05] [SPEAKER_03]: going to be changing it's perfectly fine I respect your point of view let me go to someone who
[00:37:09] [SPEAKER_03]: really has never even voted before who thinks that their vote doesn't matter and things that you
[00:37:13] [SPEAKER_03]: know it's you when let me encourage them to stand up and do that so please reach out to people who
[00:37:21] [SPEAKER_03]: you haven't yet voted who are young our college students Ashley's friends
[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Ashley's friends are already voting but you are friends with their friends friends friends
[00:37:36] [SPEAKER_00]: exactly exactly what I asked you know so why tell me what it is you know
[00:37:46] [SPEAKER_00]: well I like his policies I go which ones you know some of them just don't want to talk to you but
[00:37:54] [SPEAKER_00]: some of them will go well you know if you just ask questions keep asking questions
[00:38:00] [SPEAKER_03]: like like the concept of his MPs policies concept you know I just was going to say that
[00:38:09] [SPEAKER_09]: I want to like stress to folks too especially young folks like not to just focus on like the
[00:38:14] [SPEAKER_09]: presidential part but also to vote just sound the ballot so that you know we need both the house
[00:38:21] [SPEAKER_09]: and the Senate to actually get policies done and just to import from the foundation of the Biden
[00:38:27] [SPEAKER_05]: administration so I also want to say I'm very big into local politics and I think local
[00:38:37] [SPEAKER_05]: policies are most important thing you can ever get involved in school boards local elections
[00:38:43] [SPEAKER_05]: governors mayors county executive council you know and even in DC like we have things like
[00:38:51] [SPEAKER_02]: neighborhood you know neighborhood advisory commissions and like like like even smaller levels
[00:38:59] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm saying yes as well yeah don't don't forget voting should be something that you do with your family
[00:39:08] [SPEAKER_05]: I just think it's like I think I've got who said it but
[00:39:14] [SPEAKER_05]: election should be a national holiday our country is built on the peaceful transition of power
[00:39:23] [SPEAKER_05]: and we are losing that we are it is slipping out of our grasp and I think the problem is we have
[00:39:32] [SPEAKER_05]: these people who have no idea what the hell is going on in politics they're just listening to
[00:39:38] [SPEAKER_05]: anyone and I think what we were saying before you didn't listen in civics class when you think
[00:39:43] [SPEAKER_05]: the vice president is making policies because that's not the job of the vice president
[00:39:48] [SPEAKER_05]: they're not even teaching civics and half the schools anymore so okay yeah well because
[00:39:54] [SPEAKER_05]: it looks they don't vote right exactly and that's the reason why the election day is not
[00:40:01] [SPEAKER_05]: going to be a holiday they don't want you voting I'm going to think politicians democrat or
[00:40:06] [SPEAKER_05]: Republican really want you voting well I'm going to tell you they really don't and um you know
[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_05]: right now we want to get the vote out but there are some places I've I've seen democrats
[00:40:18] [SPEAKER_05]: could be just as bad as Republicans on that issue um you know in some places so don't worry about
[00:40:25] [SPEAKER_05]: what is going on in the ether as I think I said before you have to get out there and vote as an
[00:40:32] [SPEAKER_05]: american citizen yeah um it is your right it is your privilege is most people don't get this
[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_05]: privilege around what they are saying so many people around his world who don't get this privilege
[00:40:44] [SPEAKER_02]: that why do you think everybody wants to come to this country right exactly have they have the
[00:40:49] [SPEAKER_02]: ability you have the things that we take for granted that we do this what we're doing right now
[00:40:55] [SPEAKER_02]: we take this for granted the fact that we're sitting here speaking our minds yeah right now
[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_02]: hoping that that's right there in the world we take this for granted most people we could not
[00:41:07] [SPEAKER_02]: were not dying because we're speaking our minds that's right just up here you know you know there
[00:41:14] [SPEAKER_00]: there's there's reasons why do I know what it will you take to make it a uh a national holiday is that
[00:41:20] [SPEAKER_00]: a federal something it's not a yes definitely federal it would have to be a uh congressional bill
[00:41:29] [SPEAKER_05]: it's a bill and a amendment but just by Juneteenth I mean you just push it right okay it's
[00:41:36] [SPEAKER_05]: what you think because Juneteenth they will quick off that of the protest they were like what we need to
[00:41:41] [SPEAKER_03]: slip this right here so we need to be in a society after contracts to be created all right
[00:41:48] [SPEAKER_08]: there you go yeah if you vote and they give you that sticker where it proudly oh yeah
[00:41:56] [SPEAKER_05]: and post it like you know how to post make a shit to put it out this and especially if you
[00:42:04] [SPEAKER_05]: vote in early put a tick-tock out put a real out just make it and make it happy make it just you
[00:42:12] [SPEAKER_05]: know cheerful joyful let people see how happy you are that you did this thing because people
[00:42:18] [SPEAKER_05]: love a smiling face you and if you are out there smiling I'll learn that from YouTube
[00:42:24] [SPEAKER_05]: you out there smiling
[00:42:28] [SPEAKER_05]: you know you yeah also and they might just say oh this voting thing isn't so you know
[00:42:34] [SPEAKER_05]: a waste of my time somebody's happy about doing it I want to join this right I don't
[00:42:39] [SPEAKER_05]: people don't like having phomo so you know playing on that also I'm getting this moment
[00:42:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm getting some on the sidelines when the first woman black woman is up for electing
[00:42:51] [SPEAKER_01]: how can you sit on the sideline you don't I don't see if you think it's not gonna weigh in but
[00:42:57] [SPEAKER_01]: it weighs in with you so I voted I voted this is the one I want I want to be a part of history
[00:43:04] [SPEAKER_01]: you know right gonna sit there and just watch what I mean what would it take for you to say
[00:43:11] [SPEAKER_01]: you know don't don't come I mean you're gonna you're gonna run and vote you know you're
[00:43:15] [SPEAKER_01]: gonna run to the Super Bowl you're all mad about a little weighing you're gonna say something about
[00:43:19] [SPEAKER_01]: that but you're not gonna get up and vote you just you just cause all kinds of internet craziness
[00:43:25] [SPEAKER_01]: about who was going to be in the Super Bowl half time let's see some stuff about who's going
[00:43:31] [SPEAKER_05]: to run the country for the next four years I mean after all of that Drake and Kendrick Lamar
[00:43:39] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean at least you can go out I mean they were that was a saga okay I want to see
[00:43:47] [SPEAKER_01]: that same energy right anybody that posted about Kendrick Lamar or Drake or Lil Wayne
[00:43:58] [SPEAKER_01]: but I have your but registered you need to register the vote and you better tell me what
[00:44:08] [SPEAKER_03]: you want to see that sticker we want to see that sticker right all right that sticker
[00:44:13] [SPEAKER_01]: you show me the sticker that sticker right show me the sticker if you comment it on MS
[00:44:22] [SPEAKER_06]: I see voting more of a right and a privilege I see it's a right it's my right
[00:44:30] [SPEAKER_06]: yeah I think it's both of those things well it's both but I see it's great because
[00:44:36] [SPEAKER_06]: a privilege means that you kind of given me permission to do it all right I'm gonna vote because
[00:44:43] [SPEAKER_06]: this is my right to do I see that I get that yeah with us you know what I just I get that
[00:44:53] [SPEAKER_06]: they turn they turn you know I remember back some people on panel will know back in the 70s
[00:45:00] [SPEAKER_06]: how they got the 18 year olds to vote was like I can go and die for my country but I can't vote
[00:45:07] [SPEAKER_06]: they need to do the map and says those my elders you know this is my right I mean you
[00:45:19] [SPEAKER_06]: know they got all these role blocks including houses dogs and companies he tests whole
[00:45:29] [SPEAKER_06]: taxes and I actually remember seeing these books posted on poems really he was a here in Virginia
[00:45:37] [SPEAKER_06]: and this lady he had named Evelyn but got it thrown out saying it was non non non
[00:45:45] [SPEAKER_06]: non-constitutional so all of this says you're not giving me this
[00:45:51] [SPEAKER_04]: check this my right you know she's right yeah yeah yeah
[00:46:02] [SPEAKER_04]: And she's right.
[00:46:03] [SPEAKER_06]: She's right.
[00:46:05] [SPEAKER_06]: But for me, it's more of a right because I was a minus piece of the, and I was born
[00:46:10] [SPEAKER_06]: and I was born.
[00:46:15] [SPEAKER_06]: No, no, no, no, no.
[00:46:16] [SPEAKER_02]: You don't start to be using that.
[00:46:18] [SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no.
[00:46:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Now you preach the right.
[00:46:21] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, yeah, you know, because I remember I was just, you know, uncle, I had an uncle who
[00:46:27] [SPEAKER_06]: got at the counter.
[00:46:31] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I'm going to ask that.
[00:46:33] [SPEAKER_06]: And that kind of, so I was just behind the food to do it.
[00:46:38] [SPEAKER_06]: But I remember, you know, it was instilled in me.
[00:46:42] [SPEAKER_06]: You need to grow.
[00:46:43] [SPEAKER_06]: You need to grow.
[00:46:44] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, that's not enough.
[00:46:46] [SPEAKER_06]: That's my right.
[00:46:47] [SPEAKER_06]: And I'm going to exercise my right.
[00:46:50] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, because I am almost, I am almost 70 years old that I am going to, I am going
[00:46:57] [SPEAKER_06]: to be at the polls on Monday because our polls here within your open on Friday.
[00:47:05] [SPEAKER_06]: And I go, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:47:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Early vote, early vote.
[00:47:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Early vote.
[00:47:10] [SPEAKER_03]: That's another message for everybody.
[00:47:12] [SPEAKER_03]: If you can early vote, check in your state.
[00:47:14] [SPEAKER_03]: You can vote to it.
[00:47:16] [SPEAKER_05]: If you go on the website, you can find out more about early voting.
[00:47:20] [SPEAKER_05]: So please check the website.
[00:47:22] [SPEAKER_05]: It's not just about, that's right.
[00:47:24] [SPEAKER_05]: October 3rd.
[00:47:25] [SPEAKER_05]: There's a whole bunch of stuff on the website about voting.
[00:47:27] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, how you can be voting leader.
[00:47:31] [SPEAKER_05]: There's just a donating that whole bunch of stuff.
[00:47:34] [SPEAKER_05]: So please check out the website.
[00:47:35] [SPEAKER_00]: But for volunteering, you know, anything you want to do with the campaign from writing
[00:47:41] [SPEAKER_00]: postcards to walking around the neighborhood to whatever phone calling.
[00:47:47] [SPEAKER_00]: There's a button for checking your registration and then getting registered if you
[00:47:51] [SPEAKER_00]: aren't.
[00:47:52] [SPEAKER_00]: And there's a vote of a button for donations.
[00:47:56] [SPEAKER_03]: And I would encourage you if you're doing any voting by mail.
[00:47:59] [SPEAKER_03]: I would encourage you guys to try to do a drop box, the actual unofficial drop box.
[00:48:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Just because I don't trust people.
[00:48:09] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't trust people.
[00:48:09] [SPEAKER_03]: I would just drop it and give it to the hands that are going to count it as opposed
[00:48:13] [SPEAKER_03]: to just putting in the US mail which is lovely.
[00:48:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, put in drop box.
[00:48:17] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I agree with that.
[00:48:19] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm we do a lot of absentee back voting here.
[00:48:22] [SPEAKER_05]: I was on the military and I was overseas for quite some time.
[00:48:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Even just make sure you give it to the official.
[00:48:28] [SPEAKER_05]: If anybody is watching this and there overseas, it's in there in military.
[00:48:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Give it to the official that your drill sergeant or your sergeant or your commander told you to
[00:48:39] [SPEAKER_05]: give it to them.
[00:48:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Don't send don't go to the mail office and hand it in there.
[00:48:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Give it to who the designated person is.
[00:48:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Also, if you have children in college, make sure you find out exactly when their deadline
[00:48:52] [SPEAKER_05]: is if they cannot come home to vote.
[00:48:55] [SPEAKER_05]: Make sure they're registered even though they can't come home to vote because they can still
[00:49:00] [SPEAKER_05]: put in the absentee ballots.
[00:49:03] [SPEAKER_05]: And if you live overseas and you're working overseas, that's the same thing.
[00:49:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, somebody you could make up.
[00:49:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Make up easily.
[00:49:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Both of my children's children live overseas and they don't make it easy to build.
[00:49:15] [SPEAKER_00]: No, it's not.
[00:49:17] [SPEAKER_00]: It's very confusing.
[00:49:20] [SPEAKER_05]: It's very confusing.
[00:49:21] [SPEAKER_05]: It's very confusing.
[00:49:22] [SPEAKER_08]: You think I'm going to say quickly about this.
[00:49:25] [SPEAKER_08]: One is in the state of Texas, their website makes it look like you can register on their
[00:49:30] [SPEAKER_08]: website.
[00:49:31] [SPEAKER_08]: Who can't?
[00:49:32] [SPEAKER_08]: But you can go to a library.
[00:49:34] [SPEAKER_08]: So if you have a library in your neighborhood and your in Texas and you're hearing
[00:49:37] [SPEAKER_08]: this and you're not registered, go to the library because the website is purposely difficult.
[00:49:44] [SPEAKER_08]: The second thing is, I heard we were in Las Vegas.
[00:49:47] [SPEAKER_08]: We were in Las Vegas at the convention.
[00:49:49] [SPEAKER_08]: And Jerry was speaking from the stage and I had some friends with me who wanted to hear that panel.
[00:49:53] [SPEAKER_08]: So I was sitting there and Jerry talked about during the primaries of the surgery.
[00:49:57] [SPEAKER_08]: Ryan, she didn't get a ballot, she didn't get a ballot, she didn't get a ballot.
[00:50:01] [SPEAKER_08]: So she went and checked.
[00:50:02] [SPEAKER_08]: Somebody had purposely moved her address to someplace she'd never heard of.
[00:50:07] [SPEAKER_08]: Why am I asking everybody to please check that your registration is worth it.
[00:50:12] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:50:12] [SPEAKER_08]: That's what I'm going to be working on.
[00:50:14] [SPEAKER_06]: You're early.
[00:50:15] [SPEAKER_06]: If you got a ball early, you can fan out these things.
[00:50:18] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:50:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Another time.
[00:50:20] [SPEAKER_06]: Yep.
[00:50:21] [SPEAKER_08]: Yep.
[00:50:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Even if you have more ready register, please check your registration.
[00:50:27] [SPEAKER_05]: I beg of you to check your registration.
[00:50:29] [SPEAKER_05]: This is there are a lot of tactics out there.
[00:50:34] [SPEAKER_05]: There are a lot of, if Freud does happen and happens on both sides.
[00:50:40] [SPEAKER_05]: So please check your registration because like she just said about Jerry,
[00:50:45] [SPEAKER_05]: it could happen if it happened to Jerry, it could happen to anyone of us.
[00:50:48] [SPEAKER_05]: So please check, especially people who have been registered for so long that they just
[00:50:52] [SPEAKER_05]: go ahead and vote because they don't really like, you know, they don't think about it.
[00:50:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Especially if you vote all the time, definitely check.
[00:50:59] [SPEAKER_06]: You have voted in eight years.
[00:51:00] [SPEAKER_06]: You need to be changed.
[00:51:01] [SPEAKER_06]: You need to be checking up.
[00:51:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:51:03] [SPEAKER_05]: If you haven't voted in a long time, please check your registration.
[00:51:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Please tell me.
[00:51:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Sabrina, what were you about to say?
[00:51:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, nothing.
[00:51:13] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just going to say that you've checked your registration even if you are in a state that
[00:51:17] [SPEAKER_01]: you think is solidly blue.
[00:51:19] [SPEAKER_01]: That's not a lot of something.
[00:51:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Especially that one.
[00:51:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[00:51:23] [SPEAKER_01]: It's not about nefarious things.
[00:51:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes it's just a glitch.
[00:51:27] [SPEAKER_01]: It's the time to just, you know, it's just an accident.
[00:51:31] [SPEAKER_01]: It's just an oversight.
[00:51:32] [SPEAKER_01]: It's just a, so just don't make, there's a lot of people.
[00:51:35] [SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of names.
[00:51:36] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a, it's a mixture.
[00:51:37] [SPEAKER_01]: It's right.
[00:51:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Even if you're in a state that you think, oh, nothing.
[00:51:41] [SPEAKER_01]: They couldn't do anything in my county or my state.
[00:51:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they couldn't, but you know, maybe they just dropped something.
[00:51:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:51:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Check it.
[00:51:51] [SPEAKER_00]: That happens a lot.
[00:51:53] [SPEAKER_00]: For the people who, I mean, I don't, and California are balanced tend to be long.
[00:51:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they are everywhere.
[00:52:00] [SPEAKER_00]: But we're voting for judges and for all kinds of things.
[00:52:04] [SPEAKER_00]: And if you get, if you haven't looked at it time, you go, I don't know.
[00:52:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I have no words.
[00:52:09] [SPEAKER_02]: You're already.
[00:52:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
[00:52:11] [SPEAKER_00]: But it's really easy to find resources that tell you all that, the, the major newspaper,
[00:52:17] [SPEAKER_00]: the major radio station they almost all have websites where you can go and they'll tell
[00:52:23] [SPEAKER_00]: you all about everybody.
[00:52:25] [SPEAKER_00]: It's, it's relatively easy and kind of fun.
[00:52:28] [SPEAKER_08]: Or go or go to your ACLU or whatever organization that you trust.
[00:52:34] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
[00:52:35] [SPEAKER_08]: Ask them.
[00:52:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:52:37] [SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, you guys, I think that, um, I hope this is sort of like enticed people
[00:52:44] [SPEAKER_02]: and give them a little tease just a little bit about what's going to be happening on October
[00:52:50] [SPEAKER_02]: third when we get together with the big, with everybody.
[00:52:54] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's going to be the big shabang.
[00:52:56] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm so grateful that you all were able to come in tonight though.
[00:53:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:53:01] [SPEAKER_02]: And tap to us because, you know, October third's going to be busy and it's going to be like
[00:53:05] [SPEAKER_02]: a whole bunch of people.
[00:53:07] [SPEAKER_02]: But to have this time with you all, to speak and let everybody listen to the things
[00:53:13] [SPEAKER_02]: that you have to say in a more personal level, it's just really beautiful and we, you know,
[00:53:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I can't thank you enough for that.
[00:53:19] [SPEAKER_03]: And I've got to say, I've been reading all the little comments.
[00:53:23] [SPEAKER_03]: And community has been posting.
[00:53:25] [SPEAKER_03]: And you guys are awesome.
[00:53:26] [SPEAKER_03]: You're really amazing.
[00:53:27] [SPEAKER_03]: You're very educated, very learned that you're saying your speak and some drama truths
[00:53:31] [SPEAKER_03]: and some beautiful sage advice in there.
[00:53:34] [SPEAKER_03]: And I'm grateful for you, my sisters, for having this platform and this community
[00:53:38] [SPEAKER_03]: for showing up and being so, so woke which I'm going to continue.
[00:53:45] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to begin with you.
[00:53:47] [SPEAKER_03]: You see what's going to happen.
[00:53:49] [SPEAKER_03]: The bastardized woke, woke is a good word you guys.
[00:53:51] [SPEAKER_03]: It is.
[00:53:53] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, it came from us and they just told me to come out.
[00:53:56] [SPEAKER_05]: What was that?
[00:53:58] [SPEAKER_05]: What was that?
[00:53:59] [SPEAKER_05]: What was that?
[00:54:01] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, staying alive.
[00:54:03] [SPEAKER_03]: That's what it does.
[00:54:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Keeping your eyes open and looking out and looking behind and looking forward.
[00:54:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:54:08] [SPEAKER_05]: He was.
[00:54:11] [SPEAKER_05]: And I also want to say can we, can we take back our country?
[00:54:16] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, I love this country.
[00:54:18] [SPEAKER_05]: I love to fly my flag.
[00:54:21] [SPEAKER_05]: You know, I want to get to that point where it's okay for everybody to fly their flag.
[00:54:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I'm, I served this country for 12 years and 30 as a civil servant.
[00:54:31] [SPEAKER_05]: I love this country.
[00:54:32] [SPEAKER_05]: I think thank you for your, for your, whatever it was.
[00:54:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Thank you for everything.
[00:54:38] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, it's just I've wanted to fly my flag again and I feel like I can't do that because
[00:54:44] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't want anyone to think that I am flying it for the role.
[00:54:49] [SPEAKER_05]: But I just want to, I want us to get back to that.
[00:54:52] [SPEAKER_05]: And because I love this country very much and I'll, I would give any, you know, I've,
[00:54:58] [SPEAKER_05]: I've signed up to give my life for this country.
[00:55:01] [SPEAKER_05]: And I just, and I just want my kids, my, and if I have grandchildren to be proud of, you know, living here.
[00:55:08] [SPEAKER_05]: I know so many people just not proud of being Americans anymore.
[00:55:11] [SPEAKER_05]: You know, and I think that that hurts.
[00:55:14] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't think because I know how great this country can be.
[00:55:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I, I, I, not only can be, but I, I just believe that there are way more people out there
[00:55:25] [SPEAKER_00]: that are like us than are like the other side.
[00:55:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, really loud, but I just can't believe that there are that many of them.
[00:55:32] [SPEAKER_00]: I, I just, I just refused to believe it.
[00:55:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm.
[00:55:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Or they will not know.
[00:55:38] [SPEAKER_03]: But sometimes only ones actually was during the, it was during the ratification period of,
[00:55:43] [SPEAKER_03]: our saga after contracts and I think it's been all that work seven months as track.
[00:55:47] [SPEAKER_03]: And we finally came up with a, you know, a contract and we wanted our members to, but ratify it.
[00:55:52] [SPEAKER_03]: And they were so mad.
[00:55:53] [SPEAKER_03]: They were so mad.
[00:55:53] [SPEAKER_03]: They kept yelling at us until English we should have done better.
[00:55:55] [SPEAKER_03]: And I was so confused because I was like, we spent seven months and it, you know,
[00:55:59] [SPEAKER_03]: blood sweat and tears and really did the best we could.
[00:56:02] [SPEAKER_03]: We made a billion dollars in game.
[00:56:05] [SPEAKER_08]: And contract we ever got Michelle.
[00:56:07] [SPEAKER_03]: The best contract.
[00:56:08] [SPEAKER_03]: And I remember sitting there at a day, I said one point when we were, did a town hall
[00:56:12] [SPEAKER_03]: and we didn't know where to one of my, my members, my negotiating members.
[00:56:16] [SPEAKER_03]: I said why? Why are they so mad at you? Why are they yelling at us?
[00:56:19] [SPEAKER_03]: We were trying, we did the best that we could and we got a phenomenal contract.
[00:56:23] [SPEAKER_03]: And he said to me because Michelle, angry people and loud.
[00:56:27] [SPEAKER_03]: I think people don't, aren't loud.
[00:56:29] [SPEAKER_03]: They're like, thank you.
[00:56:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Angry people are like, yeah, so I feel, and this is the only thing that I keep trying to remind myself.
[00:56:36] [SPEAKER_03]: There's a lot of angry people right now and we're hearing the loud voices.
[00:56:40] [SPEAKER_03]: But there's a ton of people who are ready and see the light.
[00:56:44] [SPEAKER_03]: And our peacefully happily ready to make that, you know, click that Harris walls.
[00:56:50] [SPEAKER_03]: But just not yelling at anybody because they're not his angry.
[00:56:54] [SPEAKER_03]: So, yeah, yeah.
[00:56:56] [SPEAKER_03]: I guess such a great point. Thank you for bringing in.
[00:56:58] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, that's so true. We all need to hear that.
[00:57:00] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, a lot, you know, because we could feel like we're, like, shouting into the void sometimes.
[00:57:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. I mean, I think that's why our community, that the trek community is so special and especially in times like this.
[00:57:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Like we really are, I'm grateful that I have this community because I never feel alone.
[00:57:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[00:57:25] [SPEAKER_00]: When I first started going to comms back in, well, like 80, baby, 80, 80, 89 really early ones.
[00:57:32] [SPEAKER_00]: They were all fan run once.
[00:57:34] [SPEAKER_00]: And I was just knocked out by the inclusion of everybody.
[00:57:39] [SPEAKER_00]: And you know, you were just immediately taken in and everybody there was taken in,
[00:57:44] [SPEAKER_00]: didn't matter what you looked like, didn't matter what you looked like, didn't matter what you were.
[00:57:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Disabled, not it was, it was the most, and I always defend the,
[00:57:53] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, you hear certain things about old fans, I go, no, no, no.
[00:57:57] [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no the best, the best people.
[00:58:00] [SPEAKER_00]: They believe in science.
[00:58:02] [SPEAKER_08]: They believe in the future.
[00:58:04] [SPEAKER_08]: They believe in science.
[00:58:05] [SPEAKER_08]: They believe in science.
[00:58:06] [SPEAKER_03]: So it's been safe space.
[00:58:08] [SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
[00:58:09] [SPEAKER_03]: They speak out, they have, they believe in hope.
[00:58:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Or better, yeah, mom.
[00:58:14] [SPEAKER_04]: We definitely don't.
[00:58:15] [SPEAKER_08]: That's what they do when they're who's going to make it even better.
[00:58:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Sometimes you learn the page, you guys, you know,
[00:58:23] [SPEAKER_03]: That's what we got going on.
[00:58:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's just say, yes.
[00:58:26] [SPEAKER_03]: And that's it.
[00:58:29] [SPEAKER_00]: That's it.
[00:58:30] [SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
[00:58:32] [SPEAKER_07]: I love it.
[00:58:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I love it.
[00:58:35] [SPEAKER_00]: I wore my t-shirt like that in Canada.
[00:58:38] [SPEAKER_00]: I live there sometimes and I had three older women older.
[00:58:42] [SPEAKER_00]: That's me.
[00:58:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Who said, like your shirt.
[00:58:46] [SPEAKER_00]: So I just wanted to quickly mention that everybody should just keep checking the website too,
[00:58:54] [SPEAKER_00]: because we're adding people all the time.
[00:58:57] [SPEAKER_00]: We just added two people today and so do you want to tell everybody you have so far or
[00:59:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I do.
[00:59:05] [SPEAKER_05]: You go to the website and read it.
