[00:00:08] Coconut!
[00:00:11] Hi listeners, this is Sarah and Hayley. Please note, sometimes we swear, listener discretion is advised.
[00:00:20] If you're looking for a podcast that is all about Game of Thrones...
[00:00:25] If you're looking for a podcast that immediately gets right into Trek Talk...
[00:00:30] If you're looking for a podcast that consists of me naming every country in the world...
[00:00:35] I know you can do it. Or if you're looking for a podcast that isn't used as an excuse for the two hosts to just hang out and chat about whatever...
[00:00:44] Then this is not the podcast for you.
[00:00:50] I'm Sarah, that's Hayley. Here we go again! Hit it!
[00:00:54] Hit it!
[00:01:10] Oh boy, I already hate this!
[00:01:15] Hit it!
[00:01:16] Hit it!
[00:01:18] Ba-doom-ching!
[00:01:21] You know what, is this a podcast that's all about Game of Thrones?
[00:01:23] Dude, I'm doing a rewatch of Game of Thrones.
[00:01:26] Oh!
[00:01:27] And I'm like binging it.
[00:01:29] Like I haven't watched it since it ended and I'm like watching like a lot and a lot and I'm just...
[00:01:34] I feel like my hair needs to have braids in it now.
[00:01:36] I should be drinking some mead.
[00:01:37] I feel very weird when I go out in public and I'm not like looking at a castle.
[00:01:41] I should go for a walk down to Hatley Castle.
[00:01:43] Like it's just, it's almost too much, but I do love it.
[00:01:48] I love the Hound so much.
[00:01:51] And I am on season six.
[00:01:54] Oh wow, you're like...
[00:01:56] You've seen the series through, right?
[00:01:58] Yeah, yeah.
[00:01:59] Spoiler alert for those who've never watched it.
[00:02:01] Yeah.
[00:02:02] Joffrey's dead.
[00:02:03] His little brother just got put into the role.
[00:02:06] I'm watching, I'm currently on the episode where Brianna Tarth like goes after the Hound to get Aya.
[00:02:12] And you know, you think that the Hound is dead, but he's obviously not right away.
[00:02:17] But yeah, the mountain just Pedro Pascal's eyeballs blew up his head and like it's something.
[00:02:23] There's always, there's some nasty people.
[00:02:26] There's some fantastic people.
[00:02:27] It is a good show.
[00:02:28] I forgot just how good it is.
[00:02:30] The only storyline I don't give two shits about, and I sometimes actually fast forward through it,
[00:02:35] is anything to do with the...
[00:02:36] Daenerys Targaryen.
[00:02:38] Oh!
[00:02:38] And all the Unsullied and all of the gray worm and all, like anything to do with her, I'm just like, meh.
[00:02:44] That is like my favorite part.
[00:02:46] That's like my favorite part.
[00:02:48] All of her and all of her journey and all that stuff.
[00:02:51] Isn't that funny?
[00:02:52] Well, there's something for everyone.
[00:02:53] I like the sisters the most.
[00:02:55] Sansa and Ara's stories.
[00:02:57] Like they, they're good.
[00:02:59] They're the ones that I like the most or anything with them.
[00:03:02] Like the chubby guy and Gilly and you know, they were good.
[00:03:07] But yeah, it was, it's such a good show.
[00:03:10] And I remember like certain, I'm like, oh, this is the episode.
[00:03:13] Like this is the red wedding.
[00:03:15] This is when Joffrey dies.
[00:03:17] I'm like, oh my God, there's this like such epic.
[00:03:20] Like, I just, it takes me back.
[00:03:22] Like, oh my God, I remember watching this for the first time.
[00:03:24] I'd never read the books yet.
[00:03:26] Like, so I was like surprised by things and I was like, oh, it's good.
[00:03:32] I also enjoy that show.
[00:03:35] It's hard to watch as somebody who has, I swear, I have some sort of like level of face blindness.
[00:03:41] Everyone looks the goddamn same.
[00:03:43] Plus in Game of Thrones, everyone has a separate name.
[00:03:47] Yeah.
[00:03:48] And they always use these other names.
[00:03:50] But I don't know who they're talking about.
[00:03:53] Yeah, I guess.
[00:03:53] I like, yeah, but I, I enjoyed, I enjoyed that show a lot.
[00:03:59] Yeah.
[00:04:00] Yeah.
[00:04:01] It's a gooder.
[00:04:02] Oh, Danis.
[00:04:04] Yeah.
[00:04:05] And the rest.
[00:04:06] And the rest.
[00:04:09] Um, what else has been going on?
[00:04:11] I've been watching anything else.
[00:04:12] I don't think I've been watching anything else.
[00:04:14] Well, tonight's the game seven.
[00:04:18] Go Oilers.
[00:04:19] I cannot believe they bounced back on that.
[00:04:21] I was not expecting that.
[00:04:23] Me neither.
[00:04:24] I really hope they come in, uh, hope they come and clinch yet, but they won't.
[00:04:28] Or they will.
[00:04:29] Yeah.
[00:04:30] I don't know.
[00:04:31] I don't, I can't tell the future.
[00:04:33] Um, but it would be nice.
[00:04:35] Watch the game tonight.
[00:04:36] That's the plan.
[00:04:37] That's so nice.
[00:04:38] What's going on with you?
[00:04:39] Uh, well, TV wise, we started watching the boys.
[00:04:44] Oh yeah.
[00:04:44] And so we're on season two now just started and I'm just like obsessed.
[00:04:49] I love it.
[00:04:50] I didn't think I was going to like it.
[00:04:52] Like John's seen the whole thing except for the new season that came out that prompted
[00:04:55] us to start from the beginning.
[00:04:57] And just like every time he described it, I'm like, that sounds really brutal and terrible,
[00:05:01] but it's really quick witted and like quite good.
[00:05:05] I like it a lot.
[00:05:06] So we're watching that.
[00:05:08] Um, and I'm going to be watching.
[00:05:13] Well, as, as I mentioned earlier to the Patreons and to you, or maybe it wasn't to the Patreons,
[00:05:20] but it was just to you.
[00:05:21] I stress purchased Harry Potter on PS five and created my character and has started the
[00:05:28] game and I've done it on, I I'm on easy mode.
[00:05:31] So I've like, I've like just made it a fun time for me.
[00:05:37] Right.
[00:05:37] Like let's not.
[00:05:38] Yeah.
[00:05:39] So, um, I'm excited to kind of get into that and then like, I'll have you over and we'll
[00:05:43] just like make you a character and it'll be so fun and we'll just rip around.
[00:05:47] I don't know if it's two player.
[00:05:48] I don't think it is, but we'll figure it out.
[00:05:49] We'll figure it out.
[00:05:50] Yeah.
[00:05:51] Um, other than that, I guess we both had birthdays.
[00:05:54] Yeah.
[00:05:56] Yeah.
[00:05:57] I, uh, I worked and then we went to 900 degrees for dinner and I got spoiled rotten because
[00:06:05] Brad is taking me to see the Rolling Stones in Vancouver next week.
[00:06:11] Oh my God.
[00:06:12] It's next week too.
[00:06:14] The fifth or something of July.
[00:06:15] Yeah.
[00:06:15] So I'm so excited to see them.
[00:06:18] They were bucket list.
[00:06:18] We were supposed to go during obviously COVID canceled the concert.
[00:06:22] I didn't know if they'd be around long enough to say like, thank God they made it through.
[00:06:26] Yeah.
[00:06:27] So I'm, um, super stoked, super sweet of them to do that.
[00:06:32] I'm really excited.
[00:06:33] It was a very nice gift.
[00:06:34] Um, yeah.
[00:06:36] Yeah.
[00:06:37] So there's that.
[00:06:37] And then there's the big announcement I said to the patrons about the, all the people being
[00:06:42] added to STLV.
[00:06:44] We got Christopher Lloyd and the entire cast, the entire cast of strange new worlds is going
[00:06:49] to be there, which means I can get Rebecca Romay to sign my crinkled creased, terrible
[00:06:55] eight by 10 that already has Anson and Ethan.
[00:06:58] And I'll be so embarrassed being like, can you sign this garbage piece of paper that I
[00:07:02] fucking, I did crumple it that one day.
[00:07:05] And yeah.
[00:07:07] Ah, but I'm excited.
[00:07:09] Nonetheless, like that'll be really cool to see her and to see Christopher Lloyd for sure.
[00:07:14] And Carol Kane, who I know you didn't care too much for in season two of a strange worlds,
[00:07:18] but I love her.
[00:07:19] She was in the Addams family with Christopher Lloyd and the TV show taxi with Christopher
[00:07:24] Lloyd.
[00:07:25] So they have, so he probably was like, Oh, she'll be there.
[00:07:28] Oh, Oh, okay.
[00:07:29] Twist my rubber arm.
[00:07:30] Plus Terry rebuilt the original DeLorean and knows him and stuff.
[00:07:35] So there's always going to be there.
[00:07:39] Terry.
[00:07:40] Yep.
[00:07:41] At the convention.
[00:07:42] Yeah.
[00:07:42] Oh man.
[00:07:44] I feel like suddenly like things have changed for me and I'm like less, I mean, I'm interested
[00:07:49] obviously in all of the actors and stuff.
[00:07:50] They're great.
[00:07:51] But now like, I just have, I have so much respect for Terry and I would like to see him speak
[00:08:00] or her.
[00:08:01] I don't know.
[00:08:02] Terry Metallica.
[00:08:03] Now, I don't know.
[00:08:04] Yeah.
[00:08:04] I can't.
[00:08:06] What else?
[00:08:07] I, I, I spent 25 minutes this morning trying to make a statement.
[00:08:12] I was like, I don't know what I'm going to do.
[00:08:13] I'm going to do a little bit of a smooth ponytail.
[00:08:14] Like the Gen Z's do.
[00:08:16] I couldn't do it.
[00:08:18] Um, yeah.
[00:08:21] What else?
[00:08:22] You went away for your birthday.
[00:08:24] I did.
[00:08:26] Uh, I went to Telegraph Cove here.
[00:08:28] I'll read my notes.
[00:08:29] This is a, this is a tourist destination.
[00:08:31] I'll keep reading the notes too.
[00:08:33] I hope you don't get mad at me, but I went to a high T without you.
[00:08:36] And let me just say that we got fucking, um, shafted dude.
[00:08:41] You and I.
[00:08:42] Should I send an email?
[00:08:44] Yeah.
[00:08:44] I think you should.
[00:08:45] I guess our money back.
[00:08:46] I think you should actually.
[00:08:47] Okay.
[00:08:48] Yeah.
[00:08:49] Um, yeah.
[00:08:51] Anyway, so Telegraph Cove.
[00:08:52] So this is like a tourist destination.
[00:08:54] People come from all over the world, but this is up Island.
[00:08:58] However, it is five and a half hours away drive.
[00:09:00] So we drove, stayed in the cabin.
[00:09:02] This specific area has orcas all the time.
[00:09:04] I wanted to see orcas for my birthday.
[00:09:06] Did we see whales?
[00:09:07] Yes.
[00:09:08] Were they orcas?
[00:09:08] No, because all of the families, all the orca families normally up there were down
[00:09:13] in Victoria, five and a half hours away where we just fucking drove from.
[00:09:16] It's fine.
[00:09:18] Um, we also got like attacked by some sort of bugs while we were up there.
[00:09:22] They weren't bad bugs, but they were something like, eh, I don't know.
[00:09:27] Still recovering.
[00:09:28] And then I had a party and you came.
[00:09:31] It was so fun.
[00:09:33] You had fun.
[00:09:34] Everyone says that they had fun.
[00:09:35] So I'm glad everyone had fun.
[00:09:37] I think I had fun.
[00:09:38] I felt very like pulled in every direction.
[00:09:40] Yeah.
[00:09:41] I enjoyed meeting.
[00:09:43] It's the first time in a long time that I've gotten to go out and have a conversation
[00:09:50] with people I don't know that didn't also include having tennis balls thrown at my face.
[00:09:54] Like the only people I've met in the last little while have been through pickleball or through
[00:09:59] tennis and you're talking and you're like, you're, you're, you're playing a game.
[00:10:02] Like you're not really.
[00:10:02] So it was nice to like, not be dodging balls and, uh, to be dressed nice.
[00:10:07] And you have lovely friends that I hadn't met.
[00:10:10] Uh, I enjoyed the conversations I had with all of them.
[00:10:13] They were super cool.
[00:10:14] And I'm not just saying that sometimes they listen to this podcast.
[00:10:16] I actually straight up enjoyed talking to Gina and talking to Jerry and talking to everybody.
[00:10:22] They were great.
[00:10:22] Yeah.
[00:10:23] And I was glad to see your place.
[00:10:24] It was really cute.
[00:10:26] Yeah.
[00:10:26] I like it too.
[00:10:27] Nice and bright.
[00:10:28] Yeah.
[00:10:29] And the food was good.
[00:10:31] Yeah.
[00:10:31] Whole leg of pork, whole leg of prosciutto.
[00:10:33] No big deal.
[00:10:34] No big deal.
[00:10:34] You're probably still eating it.
[00:10:36] Yeah.
[00:10:38] There's a lot of.
[00:10:38] Oh, I had a lot of flowers.
[00:10:40] You ever brought, brought flowers?
[00:10:42] It was like, I was living in like in a flower shop.
[00:10:44] Um, yeah.
[00:10:46] And so then, uh, yesterday I went to, uh, butch art gardens for tea with Cheyenne.
[00:10:53] Okay.
[00:10:54] So when I told Cheyenne that you and I are going to tea, she was like, Oh, can I go?
[00:10:59] And I was like, absolutely not.
[00:11:01] And so she's like, well, can we go separately?
[00:11:03] And I was like, yeah, that's fine.
[00:11:05] Um, but we went to butcher gardens, dude, this is the tea that we wanted.
[00:11:09] There's like a single violin playing, uh, or there's like, do, do, do, do, do, do, do,
[00:11:16] do, do, do, do, like those songs.
[00:11:18] Um, the food was fresh and good.
[00:11:22] I had a tea with roses in it.
[00:11:24] Um, and guess what, dude, it was half the cost of one.
[00:11:29] Like it was 50 bucks each.
[00:11:31] Yeah.
[00:11:32] You can reserve on open table.
[00:11:34] There's no dress code.
[00:11:35] The only downside is you have to pay to get into the gardens.
[00:11:40] Yeah.
[00:11:41] Which is like not a big deal because we just walked through afterwards and it was really nice.
[00:11:45] But like compared to the Empress, um, yeah, like one was like a parody of the other really.
[00:11:54] So sorry, Empress.
[00:11:57] I love it.
[00:11:58] Um, should we talk about this episode?
[00:12:00] Yeah.
[00:12:02] Uh, let's do it.
[00:12:03] 100%.
[00:12:04] Okay.
[00:12:05] Such a good episode.
[00:12:06] I loved this.
[00:12:08] Wait, wait, fansets?
[00:12:09] Oh yeah.
[00:12:11] Let's do it.
[00:12:12] Oh my.
[00:12:13] Hey listeners.
[00:12:14] We'd love to stop, drop and roll so we can tell you all about our amazing sponsors fansets.
[00:12:20] These folks make the best Trek and non-Trek related pins.
[00:12:24] And we are excited to tell you more.
[00:12:25] Like they now have lower decks versions of Lita and Rom from Deep Space Nine.
[00:12:32] Plus back in stock are a bunch of the Delta pins from various series and species, including like cool Klingon pins.
[00:12:40] So.
[00:12:41] Nice.
[00:12:42] Get there, get some stuff, use that code TREKGEEKS.
[00:12:46] It's all caps, one word for 10% off your order.
[00:12:49] And Haley in true Anchorman fashion.
[00:12:53] Say it.
[00:12:54] Fansets.
[00:12:55] Our pins have character.
[00:12:58] Damn it.
[00:12:58] Who put a question mark on the teleprompter?
[00:13:02] Good job.
[00:13:03] Love it.
[00:13:04] Okay.
[00:13:05] So we're talking about episode five.
[00:13:08] Picard season three, right?
[00:13:11] Yup.
[00:13:12] Right smack dab in the middle of this tremendous season of television.
[00:13:17] I'm just going to start going, you know, the drill.
[00:13:20] Let's do it.
[00:13:20] All right.
[00:13:22] The episode left us off with good news and bad news.
[00:13:26] They survived that gravitational well, but Jack is still messed up.
[00:13:30] What do we have in store now?
[00:13:32] Everything is fine and dandy on the bridge.
[00:13:34] We'll be home again soonish.
[00:13:36] Ship is almost up and running.
[00:13:37] And then Jack comes on board and starts shooting everyone.
[00:13:40] And one of the dying officers is like, I know what you are.
[00:13:43] And red vines appear on her and she shoot and he shoots her.
[00:13:47] And then he wakes up.
[00:13:49] He's got a phaser in his hands, which are shaking.
[00:13:51] And he hears voices.
[00:13:53] His eyes go red.
[00:13:54] And he's here is that voice again saying, come home.
[00:14:00] Well, that's messed up.
[00:14:04] Can't these folks get the hot five just to like party and celebrate?
[00:14:08] My God.
[00:14:09] They cannot.
[00:14:10] What's up with Jack?
[00:14:11] What's up with that?
[00:14:13] Who knew you do bad?
[00:14:15] Screw you.
[00:14:17] What's up with Jack?
[00:14:20] Knowing what we know, because we've seen the whole season,
[00:14:22] he must feel very confused with these terrible dreams and,
[00:14:25] and the red vines.
[00:14:27] And I'm not talking licorice.
[00:14:29] Yeah.
[00:14:31] I hear you.
[00:14:33] All right.
[00:14:33] So cue the commercial cue the opening theme music.
[00:14:37] It's wonderful.
[00:14:38] We love it.
[00:14:39] I just got the vinyl album of Picard season three.
[00:14:42] I'm very excited.
[00:14:43] Okay.
[00:14:44] It's time for an acting captain log from Riker.
[00:14:48] We're getting fixed up.
[00:14:50] No Vatican site.
[00:14:51] And now we can focus on other pressing matters.
[00:14:54] Picard wants to know how changelings got aboard.
[00:14:57] Seven tells us about routine imaging chambers that verify they aren't a changeling.
[00:15:02] It was standard procedures since the Dominion war.
[00:15:05] Time to go home and face the music, Picard says.
[00:15:08] And Riker gives back transfer of power of the ship to Shaw.
[00:15:12] Riker Omega 69 row.
[00:15:16] A giddy Shaw tells them he's already told Starfleet about shit and they are on their way.
[00:15:22] So does seven want to be stated or uninstated?
[00:15:26] And he gives them some time to get their bullshit story straight.
[00:15:30] Love it.
[00:15:32] Picard volunteers to take the brunt of it.
[00:15:34] Crusher apologizes for the shit storm and he just wants them safe.
[00:15:38] Crusher doesn't think things are over yet.
[00:15:40] She wants to examine the changeling's body.
[00:15:43] Picard suggests Starfleet to Jack in his future.
[00:15:46] And he's not all that into it.
[00:15:48] I don't want to do it, dad.
[00:15:49] God.
[00:15:50] Yeah.
[00:15:51] Meanwhile, Raffi is training with Worf, loving every minute of it.
[00:15:54] And it's nothing short of epic.
[00:15:56] Those two.
[00:15:56] He defeats her and then meditates and they are interrupted by his handler.
[00:16:01] They've been denied access to Daystrom, but are kind of told to keep looking.
[00:16:06] Something is fishy and Raffi is straight up done.
[00:16:10] They try and figure out how changelings got into Daystrom, which has sophisticated safety features.
[00:16:15] And he mentions Kryn, some bad guy they need to go see.
[00:16:18] Congratulations.
[00:16:19] We are now the alphas of District 6.
[00:16:22] Back on the ship, USS Intrepid arrives and they are hailed.
[00:16:27] They are sending over a shuttle, not transporting.
[00:16:30] And they find it strange.
[00:16:31] In the turbolift, Shaw is humming happily and he throws shade about them,
[00:16:37] hot drop in the saucer section, snogging the Baku lady, or when they created a time paradox.
[00:16:43] Those were the days.
[00:16:44] They meet those who came over and it's Ensign Rowe.
[00:16:48] I love her.
[00:16:49] She wants Riker and Picard to submit to questioning and they may be charged with treason.
[00:16:55] Dun dun dun.
[00:16:57] What are your thoughts?
[00:16:58] Oh, I love Shaw.
[00:17:01] Give you guys some time to get your bullshit story straight.
[00:17:04] What is this?
[00:17:04] Me at any of my fucking meetings lately.
[00:17:07] But I love how he's just like, do, do, do, do, do.
[00:17:10] Like he's so excited.
[00:17:11] He just did.
[00:17:13] Yeah.
[00:17:13] Yeah.
[00:17:14] I like how Picard gets on Jack like immediately about his job.
[00:17:18] Like he may be a wanted criminal in space, but like he's got a job.
[00:17:21] Like give him a break.
[00:17:23] Yeah.
[00:17:23] Um, and I love where the part where Worf just like stood there and like one handed fought
[00:17:28] off Raffi's attacks.
[00:17:29] Alpha, I hardly knew ya.
[00:17:31] Could you imagine being the alpha of a whole district?
[00:17:34] You, give me Sneed.
[00:17:36] You, get me some salt and vinegar chips.
[00:17:39] Oh, we would take that power and probably abuse it a little bit.
[00:17:45] I would think.
[00:17:46] Yeah.
[00:17:47] Yeah.
[00:17:47] Taking, taking a shuttle instead of transporting like red flag.
[00:17:51] I wouldn't even accept it.
[00:17:52] Uh, I loved how Shaw was dead hot dropped the saucer section of the enterprise D.
[00:17:57] I was like, dude, what?
[00:17:59] Like, first off, talk about the ultimate roast.
[00:18:02] Like, well done.
[00:18:03] Secondly, this guy cannot fucking get rid of these two.
[00:18:06] Like I saw a comment online that said, I want a full seven season series of Captain
[00:18:12] Shaw getting dragged into random crap that has nothing to do with him or the official mission
[00:18:16] briefings given to him by Starfleet.
[00:18:18] Yeah.
[00:18:19] And someone else said, I'd love a whole series where every season was just different legacy
[00:18:23] characters showing up unannounced on the bridge of the Titan and drop Shaw and crew into an
[00:18:28] absurdly dangerous situation.
[00:18:30] He's literally me when it's like 11 PM and you're hosting a party and you're doing the
[00:18:36] dishes and like, you're like kind of maybe have slippers on and you're trying to tell everyone
[00:18:41] like parties over get out, but they're not.
[00:18:44] Yeah.
[00:18:45] Totally.
[00:18:46] How many, how many more times would I have to loudly clink these dishes and turn on my
[00:18:50] dishwasher to get the hint that the thing's over?
[00:18:52] Like slowly turning out all the lights.
[00:18:55] Yeah.
[00:18:56] Music's going down.
[00:18:58] The curlers in my hair.
[00:18:59] I'm brushing my teeth.
[00:19:01] Yeah, totally.
[00:19:02] All right, guys.
[00:19:03] Oh my God.
[00:19:04] Um, yeah, there was so much to unpack.
[00:19:06] Um, Worf and his meditation stuff is hilarious to me.
[00:19:09] I thought it was such a fun just way to grow the character a little bit and give him a bit
[00:19:13] of dad and watching him and Rafi together is a thrill.
[00:19:17] Like they're such a good team.
[00:19:18] Um, they, they have great chemistry as people and characters.
[00:19:23] Um, so stoked to see Ro.
[00:19:25] I always loved her character.
[00:19:26] I know you didn't love her a lot, but, um, you know, I, I was, I was so surprised to
[00:19:31] see her come back.
[00:19:32] Um, but I don't like that.
[00:19:33] She seems to be bearing some bad news.
[00:19:36] Um, and then I agree with you standing ovation again for shot and his retelling of the past
[00:19:40] missteps by our famous duo.
[00:19:43] Uh, he really did his research on these two.
[00:19:45] He's definitely a secret fan boy in my opinion.
[00:19:48] Never change.
[00:19:48] Never change.
[00:19:49] Never change.
[00:19:51] I was with Ro.
[00:19:53] I, yeah, no, I really, I never really liked her character when I was younger.
[00:19:56] I always thought that she felt like so harsh, like she wouldn't even jump on the bed
[00:20:00] when she was, she turned into a kid, but now that I'm older and all jaded and shit,
[00:20:05] I actually see myself in her.
[00:20:07] So like, Rob's respect.
[00:20:09] It's I feel the same way too about, um, Kira.
[00:20:13] Um, because when I was little, like, you know, Oh, Dax and Troy, they're so pretty.
[00:20:18] Like I, you know, and then you just get older and you're just like, fuck.
[00:20:21] Like I like the bitches who are getting shit done.
[00:20:22] Like, yeah, no kidding.
[00:20:23] No, I love the new modern seven of nine.
[00:20:27] And like, yeah.
[00:20:28] Yeah.
[00:20:29] Yeah.
[00:20:29] All right.
[00:20:30] Uh, the next part seven is hiding Jack and makes him change into a uniform.
[00:20:35] Crusher is more pressure.
[00:20:37] Join star fleet here.
[00:20:38] I know.
[00:20:39] What about the star fleet?
[00:20:40] Fucking he's doing okay.
[00:20:41] Except for being a wanted criminal.
[00:20:43] It's fine.
[00:20:43] Yeah.
[00:20:44] Uh, Crusher is doing a review of the dead changeling and Sydney barfs upon seeing a dead
[00:20:49] body that looks like herself.
[00:20:51] That counts.
[00:20:51] That's, that's pretty weird.
[00:20:53] Um, why hasn't it resorted back to goo upon death though?
[00:20:57] That seems weird.
[00:20:58] No DNA is being represented, but there's blood like plasma.
[00:21:03] This changeling could pass the initial blood test is what they're finding.
[00:21:07] Roe should be in prison.
[00:21:09] According to Picard.
[00:21:10] She was Maquis sent there by Picard and he's pissed.
[00:21:14] He had a bond.
[00:21:16] He mentioned her and she broke that, which is what hurts Picard.
[00:21:20] It's all deep in feelings and shit.
[00:21:22] She wants to be addressed as commander.
[00:21:24] She's all business.
[00:21:25] I think it's super hot.
[00:21:26] And you know, Riker, he totally had a thing for her at some point.
[00:21:29] They had to have done it at some point.
[00:21:31] I'm just, I'm convinced.
[00:21:32] Um, she proves to Picard.
[00:21:34] She isn't a changeling by cutting her hand and he noticed she doesn't have her pejoran
[00:21:38] earring on, which is a tense scene.
[00:21:41] Now Jack is hearing voices again and is zombie walking around headed to the transporter where
[00:21:46] his vision intensifies.
[00:21:49] The transporter dude is like, what is up with you, man?
[00:21:51] And he's like, be me off of here.
[00:21:53] And he says, no.
[00:21:54] And he shoots them.
[00:21:54] But again, it's a vision dude.
[00:21:56] You okay?
[00:21:57] Like what the fuck?
[00:21:59] All right.
[00:21:59] Raffi and wharf and find Kryn.
[00:22:02] And it's one of my favorite character actors, Kirk Acevedo or Acevedo from Oz.
[00:22:08] He was, um, Miguel Alvarez and Oz.
[00:22:12] He was in the walking dead.
[00:22:13] He's an invincible and fun fact, him and his wife follow me on Twitter.
[00:22:18] No big deal.
[00:22:20] By the way, he is prepared for them and he is serious.
[00:22:24] Dr. Crusher realizes the changelings can replicate human organs.
[00:22:28] They have advanced.
[00:22:29] It's not a new species.
[00:22:30] It's evolution.
[00:22:31] They could be anywhere or anyone and they'd never know.
[00:22:36] Ro wants to know about Jack, which is suspicious to Picard.
[00:22:40] Picard calls her out for not wanting different details and asks about how she got reinstated.
[00:22:45] She went to jail again and then was rehabilitated and worked her way back up.
[00:22:51] He tells her they killed the changeling and she wants to see it.
[00:22:55] She pulls a phaser on him and wants to go to the holodeck.
[00:22:57] What is up with Ro?
[00:22:59] Inside the holodeck, he turns off the safety features and she is obviously wanting privacy.
[00:23:04] Music comes on and he pulls a phaser too.
[00:23:06] Who are you really?
[00:23:07] You're compromised.
[00:23:08] No, you're compromised.
[00:23:10] No, you.
[00:23:11] No, you.
[00:23:12] Picard speaks in Bajoran and they let out years of pent up anger.
[00:23:16] You broke my heart and you broke mine.
[00:23:18] If you cared, you'd have understood.
[00:23:20] Oh, it's powerful stuff.
[00:23:22] Well, that's awkward.
[00:23:24] We are who we are, obviously.
[00:23:27] Starfleet is compromised at the highest level.
[00:23:29] Do you trust me?
[00:23:30] Is what she's asking.
[00:23:31] And now we're getting somewhere people.
[00:23:33] Finally, back to Raffi and Worf.
[00:23:37] Kryn grew up with Sneed.
[00:23:38] They were brothers on the streets, had a blood oath.
[00:23:42] This is one bad ass Vulcan.
[00:23:44] He wants Worf and Raffi to fight to the death.
[00:23:48] Sacrifices required again.
[00:23:49] No, Worf, no.
[00:23:51] He's talking like he's ready to die and takes one for the team.
[00:23:55] They start fighting.
[00:23:55] No one can hold back and it's brutal.
[00:23:58] Raffi stabs Worf.
[00:23:59] I hate this.
[00:24:00] And she apologizes.
[00:24:02] And he's like, today was a good day to die.
[00:24:04] No.
[00:24:05] He calls her a warrior and it's a worthy death.
[00:24:08] And he collapses and my heart stops.
[00:24:11] And then we're back on the ship.
[00:24:13] Oh my God.
[00:24:14] Ro thinks the changelings have infiltrated multiple areas.
[00:24:17] She trusts no one, not the captain, not the transporters.
[00:24:20] Then she brings up Frontier Day.
[00:24:22] The entire fleet is on display.
[00:24:24] Security is so tight.
[00:24:25] She can't get info.
[00:24:26] There have been 12 incidents across multiple ships,
[00:24:29] and it's all being kept quiet.
[00:24:32] What does it have to do with Jack?
[00:24:34] She's been told to retrieve him.
[00:24:35] He comes up in intelligence chatter.
[00:24:38] Ro has tried multiple ways to get to important people she trusts,
[00:24:41] and the gatekeepers block her everywhere.
[00:24:44] Oh my God.
[00:24:45] This was a really long piece.
[00:24:46] Back on the planet, they check Worf to see if he's dead
[00:24:50] and he wants him, and Kryn wants him gotten rid of
[00:24:53] because the smell is making him sick.
[00:24:55] You work for me now, Starfleet, he announces.
[00:24:57] She won't allow herself to be owned, and then the lights go out
[00:25:00] and everyone falls around Kryn.
[00:25:02] Worf is up and at it, bleeding badly,
[00:25:04] but he can control his heart rate to look dead,
[00:25:07] but he needs medical attention.
[00:25:09] Daystrom is guarded by an AI system, but has illogical flaws.
[00:25:13] He has a device, Kryn, that will help get through to this device.
[00:25:19] Lastly, Ro says the staff is minimal.
[00:25:22] She wants Picard to take the ship and run because so many people have beamed off onto her ship.
[00:25:28] She cries to Picard, wishing they hadn't lost years, that she wished he had understood,
[00:25:33] and she orders her folks to leave now without Jack.
[00:25:37] She secretly hands Picard her Bajoran earring and leaves.
[00:25:41] Picard tells Shaw they have to run.
[00:25:43] Starfleet is compromised, and Shaw wants security to take Picard,
[00:25:46] and he implores to trust him.
[00:25:48] They have to run.
[00:25:49] The shuttle leaves with Ro, and as they approach the Intrepid,
[00:25:53] her security officers flee, leaving her alone on the shuttlecraft.
[00:25:56] They were changelings.
[00:25:58] Ro contacts the Titan.
[00:26:00] Her security's left her.
[00:26:02] There's a bomb.
[00:26:03] They can't get a lock on her.
[00:26:04] Come back to the Titan.
[00:26:06] We need you closer.
[00:26:07] I don't have time to disarm it.
[00:26:08] She moves away from the Titan.
[00:26:10] Jean-Luc, it's up to you now.
[00:26:12] Finish what I started.
[00:26:13] Don't do this!
[00:26:14] I'm giving you a fighting chant, is what she says.
[00:26:17] I do see you, he says.
[00:26:19] Everything.
[00:26:19] Forgive me.
[00:26:20] It's only now.
[00:26:21] And like that, the connection is lost, and she explodes.
[00:26:26] Intrepid is raising shields.
[00:26:27] Riker says they're being framed.
[00:26:29] Changelings are masquerading on the ship as Starfleet.
[00:26:35] Ugh.
[00:26:37] Like, this season is so good.
[00:26:43] And emotional.
[00:26:44] It is.
[00:26:46] Ro really is all business, or was all business.
[00:26:50] And the scene where, like, Kakar's just like, so obviously upset by her actions, and he's like, being mean to her.
[00:26:58] But he was also raising serious questions like, where is your earring?
[00:27:01] Like, oh yeah, you can bleed?
[00:27:03] Well, we already know, like, from what Beverly showed us that they can all bleed.
[00:27:08] Um, anyway, with Jack and his weird calling, I think I mentioned this last time.
[00:27:14] I have, I watch with closed captioning, because it helps.
[00:27:16] And it's Beverly's voice that's calling Jack.
[00:27:21] Like, come to me, or come find me, or whatever.
[00:27:23] It says Beverly, and it is her voice.
[00:27:26] Like, obviously that changes, because we know who the voice is.
[00:27:29] But like, I'm wondering why they used Beverly there at first, and maybe that becomes clear.
[00:27:33] I can't remember.
[00:27:35] But either way, Jake, Jack needs to take a serious five, because he is hallucinating hardcore.
[00:27:40] I like how we both said serious five, also in this podcast episode so far.
[00:27:45] Um, what is, what's all the crap in the air on the planet where Kryn is?
[00:27:50] It's all a bunch of stuff.
[00:27:51] I tried to Google, it didn't come up.
[00:27:53] But also, my question, is he a Vulcan?
[00:27:55] I heard him say the word illogical, but I was looking at my screen.
[00:27:58] He's obviously a Vulcan.
[00:28:01] Um, Picard and Rose seen in the holodeck was like intense as hell, and I'm glad that they like, got through it.
[00:28:07] But like, talk about like a tearjerker.
[00:28:11] Um, when I first saw this episode, I thought Worf was dead.
[00:28:17] And I thought that that was, I'm like, note this day, Worf is dead.
[00:28:21] Nothing will be the same.
[00:28:22] Like, it felt like, not a betrayal, but it felt like such a gut punch.
[00:28:26] And then, she was okay.
[00:28:29] I'm in desperate need of medical attention.
[00:28:32] I know.
[00:28:34] Anyway.
[00:28:34] Yeah.
[00:28:35] And then like, when Ro was flying away in that shuttle or whatever, it reminded me of when we were on in the experience and I was like flabbergasted that we landed on the roof of the Hilton.
[00:28:47] Because I thought it was, because I thought it was real.
[00:28:49] How strong was that warp core breach?
[00:28:52] Anyway.
[00:28:53] Yeah.
[00:28:54] Yeah.
[00:28:55] Um, yeah, this episode is intense.
[00:28:59] And I, like, I don't even know what to say to do it justice.
[00:29:02] Like, the whole closing of the story of Ro and Picard and their relationship, I think was such a gift from the writers.
[00:29:09] Like, it really pulled at my heartstrings.
[00:29:11] I did love her character.
[00:29:13] And this whole season is such a gift from the writers and the creators because how often is it that there's a show that people love and then decades later you get questions answered that were left, like all those little strings got tied up.
[00:29:31] Like, it's no different than looking back, like they're due, like a random season of the office and they close up different issues that happen and everyone's just like, reunited.
[00:29:40] Like, it's just, it's just a TV show, but it's so much more because it's something that we both grew up with and it's just like, oh my God.
[00:29:47] Like, and I found that the, the Ro thing, it wasn't just a flash in the pan.
[00:29:51] Like, oh, it's Ro.
[00:29:52] Oh, she's dead.
[00:29:52] Like, it was so deep.
[00:29:55] Um, and so good.
[00:29:57] So good.
[00:29:58] And shit is bad.
[00:29:59] Like, it's so much worse than we thought.
[00:30:01] There's changelings that are all advanced and stuff.
[00:30:03] They're hidden everywhere.
[00:30:05] All like entire ships are compromised.
[00:30:07] It's so crazy.
[00:30:09] And it's so stressful.
[00:30:11] Yes.
[00:30:11] And then Worf gives me a bloody heart attack.
[00:30:13] Like I can't.
[00:30:14] And this is just episode five.
[00:30:16] Ugh.
[00:30:17] All right.
[00:30:18] On to the next part.
[00:30:20] Uh, we gotta run Shaw.
[00:30:23] Riker says most of the crew is on the Intrepid now and Shaw needs to at least trust his own eyes if he doesn't trust them.
[00:30:30] Battle stations again.
[00:30:32] Get to your post.
[00:30:33] Starfleet has been compromised.
[00:30:35] Like imagine hearing that over the thing.
[00:30:36] Like you've never, I've never heard that.
[00:30:38] That'd be terrifying.
[00:30:39] It's so scary.
[00:30:40] Yeah.
[00:30:41] Nope.
[00:30:41] Like you're just like, I'm just in the mess hall having my lunch break finally after a nine hour shift and what?
[00:30:46] Like get to my battle station?
[00:30:48] Starfleet's compromised?
[00:30:49] Ugh.
[00:30:50] Jack comes across two officers and they are bad guys who want to beam him away.
[00:30:55] Out of nowhere he's fighting like pro and he disarms all four of them and kills them without breaking a sweat.
[00:31:02] The visions are growing stronger.
[00:31:04] The red door is right there and he blinks.
[00:31:06] All is normal except for the four dead bodies are still there.
[00:31:10] The Intrepid is targeting.
[00:31:12] The warp core is online and they get out of there fast.
[00:31:15] They're coming for us.
[00:31:17] Who?
[00:31:17] Everyone like, I don't even know who's coming after us.
[00:31:21] Picard sits and Riker comes to him.
[00:31:23] I'm sorry.
[00:31:24] Picard reflects on how he didn't realize how much Ro meant to him.
[00:31:29] And they look at the earring.
[00:31:30] Riker, the genius he is, opens up the earring.
[00:31:34] It's a data chip full of all of her investigation.
[00:31:38] A transmission is incoming and it's worth how unexpected.
[00:31:44] And he's like, where's Ro?
[00:31:46] Didn't see that happening.
[00:31:47] Didn't see that coming.
[00:31:49] Meanwhile in sick bay Shaw tells Jack, nice shooting for getting four changelings.
[00:31:53] Crusher talks to her son.
[00:31:55] She can tell he's not okay.
[00:31:57] And she needs to know what's going on.
[00:31:59] How did you know they were changelings?
[00:32:01] Uh, I didn't.
[00:32:03] Uh, I think there's something very wrong with me.
[00:32:06] The end.
[00:32:12] What?
[00:32:15] Yeah.
[00:32:16] Yeah.
[00:32:18] When I saw the connection with Warf, Riker and Picard, I was like, the boys are back
[00:32:23] in town, boys are back in town.
[00:32:26] Which also reminded me of an article from Vice where this guy played the boys are back
[00:32:30] in town on a jukebox in a bar until he got kicked out.
[00:32:33] It's a really funny article.
[00:32:34] I'll send it to you.
[00:32:35] It's a great song.
[00:32:37] Yeah, I agree.
[00:32:38] Um, yeah, I'm super pumped for that reconnection.
[00:32:41] I'm glad Jack's finally asking for help.
[00:32:43] See, it's not that hard.
[00:32:43] Mm hmm.
[00:32:45] Uh, this episode so good.
[00:32:49] Like, I know.
[00:32:51] And it's like, and this is where you're really starting to get like the, the reunions coming.
[00:32:57] Yeah.
[00:32:57] I mean, like you've got crushers there.
[00:33:01] She's been hanging out with boys.
[00:33:03] And then now there's Warf on screen and they haven't seen each other.
[00:33:08] And, you know, it's just like, you know, what's coming next.
[00:33:11] Right?
[00:33:11] Like it's so good.
[00:33:14] Can't wait for the next one.
[00:33:16] I know.
[00:33:17] So awesome.
[00:33:18] Uh, shall we do some goofs and trivia and all that kind of shit?
[00:33:21] Yep.
[00:33:22] Fuck yeah.
[00:33:23] All right.
[00:33:24] Uh, you start us off.
[00:33:25] Sure.
[00:33:32] Sure.
[00:33:35] Ferengenar.
[00:33:37] Ferengenar.
[00:33:37] Ferengenar.
[00:33:38] Ferengenar.
[00:33:40] Ferengenar hardly knew, uh, who were both recurring secondary characters on Star Trek DS9 as well as Thadde and Okana who appeared in the outrageous Okana, 1988, Crossroads 2022, and Masquerade, also 2022.
[00:33:55] Good Lord.
[00:33:57] Big time, big time, big time stuff.
[00:33:59] Um, in the Tribal Lift, Shaw talks to Picard and Riker about events that were in Generations, 94.
[00:34:05] Yep.
[00:34:05] The saucers crashing, hot dropping.
[00:34:08] Uh, insurrection, the Baku villager, and all good things, uh, almost wiping out humanity.
[00:34:14] I guess he saw the, I guess he saw the videos.
[00:34:16] I guess he saw them.
[00:34:18] Um, the events discussed by Picard and Riker, Rose defection from Starfleet, took place during preemptive strike, 1994, the second to last episode of The Next Generation.
[00:34:29] Hmm.
[00:34:30] There you go.
[00:34:31] Kirk Acevedo, who plays Kryn, was a major character in 12 Monkeys, 2015, alongside Aaron Stanford, who played Sneed, and Todd Stashwick, Captain Shaw.
[00:34:41] When describing his relationship to Sneed, Kryn explains that they were brothers coming up together as scavengers.
[00:34:46] This is a reference to their roles in 12 Monkeys, where prior to the main storyline of the show, the two survived the collapse of civilization as scavengers, relying on each other to point to the point of considering themselves brothers.
[00:34:57] Aw.
[00:34:58] I really want to watch that show, 12 Monkeys, but that's nowhere to be found on any kind of thing.
[00:35:03] I'd have to buy it on like, oh.
[00:35:06] Really?
[00:35:06] Yeah.
[00:35:07] But I really want to see it because, um, I think even Christopher Lloyd makes a guest starring and it's like a post-apocalyptic kind of show.
[00:35:13] And I never saw the movie with Brad Pitt, but I like post-apocalyptic and I like what Terry Metales did with this.
[00:35:19] And obviously I like Kirk Acevedo and Todd Stashwick.
[00:35:22] So it's like, I want to watch the show.
[00:35:24] Win, win, win, win.
[00:35:25] Yeah, you should.
[00:35:25] And you should.
[00:35:26] I gotta find it.
[00:35:27] I'll do it.
[00:35:29] While in the turbo lift with Riker and Picard, Shaw hums part of the song Don't You Forget About Me by Simple Minds.
[00:35:36] Todd Stashwick.
[00:35:37] Yeah.
[00:35:38] I didn't, I wasn't sure.
[00:35:40] Todd Stashwick played a character in 12 Monkeys who became associated with this song, having sung it often.
[00:35:45] Oh, I love that kind of stuff.
[00:35:46] Oh, I just think of the Breakfast Club.
[00:35:48] Me too.
[00:35:49] Um, when Worf puts his knife across Kryn's throat, the Klingon theme from Star Trek The Motion Picture is played.
[00:35:56] Cool.
[00:35:57] Uh, there was no goofs that I found.
[00:35:58] Um, but I did have the stuff from Trek Corps.
[00:36:01] Uh, Jim Morehouse wrote it.
[00:36:03] Nice.
[00:36:03] And I have a little bit of ditty about him because I think you even asked last time, like, who is Jim Morehouse?
[00:36:07] He is the creator of trekranks.com at the Trek Ranks podcast.
[00:36:13] Oh.
[00:36:13] Uh, he can be found living and breathing Trek every day on Twitter as at Enterprise Extra.
[00:36:19] There you go.
[00:36:19] So that's a little bit about who this guy is.
[00:36:21] He always writes really good stuff about episodes, synopses, and then all the little fun facts and stuff that he finds.
[00:36:27] So, um, some of it might be repetitive, but I'll start us off with Ro Lahren's moment of betrayal and preemptive strike is, incredibly, the final scene of a regular one-hour episode of TNG's seven-year run and the last event prior to the show's series finale.
[00:36:40] It's a big moment and it's incredible to see that this story continued here.
[00:36:44] Yes.
[00:36:45] Yeah, agree.
[00:36:47] This is now Michael Dorn's 277th episode as Worf, extending his record appearance tally in Star Trek.
[00:36:55] As for Worf's body count in Picard season three, we have completely lost track after only five episodes.
[00:37:01] There are just too many to count.
[00:37:04] In staging his death, Worf references having mastered the Kalos technique of regulating his heart rate to nearly imperceptible levels.
[00:37:13] Prior to his collapse, he utters his most famous quote telling Rafi, today was a good day to die.
[00:37:18] You are a warrior.
[00:37:19] This is a worthy death.
[00:37:20] Oh God.
[00:37:21] It's just like, oh.
[00:37:23] It was so good.
[00:37:24] Thank God also.
[00:37:25] Thank God for all those backup systems that Klingons have.
[00:37:29] Thank God.
[00:37:31] In the moment where Kryn hands over the tech necessary to break into the Daystrom station, we see great visual effects, a great visual effects shot of the station model and a few shots inside the station for the first time.
[00:37:44] The station appears to be a blending of design principles found in Jupiter's station and the Midas array.
[00:37:51] I picked up on that too.
[00:37:53] Totally.
[00:37:54] Totally.
[00:37:55] Commander Rose ship, the USS Intrepid, the first Duderstad class vessel in Trek to date.
[00:38:04] It's likely named for Dorothy Duder, the, or Dutter.
[00:38:07] I'm not sure.
[00:38:08] The Star Trek enterprise food stylist, who is also the late wife of Star Trek ship designer and visual effects artist, Doug Drexler.
[00:38:15] Oh, that's cool.
[00:38:16] Oh.
[00:38:17] Yeah.
[00:38:18] I like that.
[00:38:18] Very nice.
[00:38:19] Nicely done.
[00:38:20] Uh, we get a, not yet another reference to Admiral Janeway in this episode is Ro explains the difficulty reaching Starfleet leadership about the changeling threat.
[00:38:28] Also, may I just say, uh, when is Starfleet not compromised at the highest level?
[00:38:34] Like it's constantly like anyway, following the Dominion war, new Starfleet protocols include having every person on a ship pass through an internal imaging chamber before reporting for duty to verify they are not a changeling.
[00:38:46] Yes.
[00:38:47] Seven mentions that.
[00:38:49] That's, uh, that's super interesting.
[00:38:51] And, uh, uh, Crusher verifies that these new look changelings are not a new or different species, but an evolution of what we've seen before, which means they could be anywhere or anyone and no one would ever know.
[00:39:06] That was so like, I know I keep using this word terrifying, but like the dread I felt because this is a real universe and these people were really impacted and threatened.
[00:39:16] And this too, um, not only this, but the, the one before about the internal imaging chamber, like this right here is evidence of good writing, smart writing.
[00:39:28] Like they're not just like making up something with no explanation, just to fool the, to fool the, the watcher.
[00:39:34] Like they know Trek fans are smart.
[00:39:37] They know that we know our stuff and these writers are fans and they know their stuff.
[00:39:41] That's why there's so many great like Easter eggs and so many throwbacks.
[00:39:45] And it's like, thank you for doing such a good job of giving an excuse and a reason, even Jack's accent.
[00:39:52] Oh, he went to London.
[00:39:53] I never like that is so appreciated.
[00:39:55] And I wish more shows did that.
[00:39:57] Like, thank you.
[00:39:58] Like it's so good.
[00:40:00] Yeah.
[00:40:00] Acknowledge our questions that you know that we have.
[00:40:03] Exactly.
[00:40:04] Um, Kryn wears a large, rather ostentatious version of the IDIC around his neck.
[00:40:11] That is only logical for a Vulcan crime Lord.
[00:40:16] Noice.
[00:40:18] It seems that there is always an extra phaser or two under the bar at Guinan's, which Picard puts to good use in his showdown with Roe.
[00:40:25] Yeah, I thought it was good.
[00:40:26] Roe's journey back to Starfleet was just like her first path back to Starfleet service after the incident on Garen II, referenced in Ensign Roe.
[00:40:34] After her defection to the Maquis and preemptive strike, she eventually turned herself into Starfleet, was court-martialed and imprisoned, and then was recruited again by Starfleet intelligence.
[00:40:44] After an arduous rehabilitation program, she proved herself and worked her way back up again.
[00:40:49] What a lady.
[00:40:50] Right.
[00:40:52] No doubt.
[00:40:53] No kidding.
[00:40:54] Respect.
[00:40:54] The episode is directed by Dan Liu, who has one previous Star Trek directorial credit under his belt, the widely hailed Strange New Worlds episode Memento Mori.
[00:41:08] Ooh.
[00:41:09] Writer Cindy Appel now has five Picard writing credits to her name, while this is the second script for co-writer Chris Derrick.
[00:41:17] Nicely done.
[00:41:19] It's just amazing work.
[00:41:20] Like, just, ugh.
[00:41:22] Like, it doesn't happen often that a show makes me tear up and like, make facial expressions while I'm watching where I'm like, ugh, ugh, or I'm smiling so big.
[00:41:34] Like, I'm just like, ugh.
[00:41:36] Like, I just love it so much.
[00:41:38] And that's why I had to go ahead and just re-watch, like, all right, I'm watching episode six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
[00:41:42] I can't, I can't stop.
[00:41:43] I have to.
[00:41:44] It's just so good.
[00:41:44] And I'll watch it again.
[00:41:45] Totally.
[00:41:46] It feels good, too.
[00:41:47] Because it feels familiar and it's also like, like you've been saying, they, the writers and everybody, everybody has done such a good job.
[00:41:53] Like, I'm so pleased.
[00:41:56] Yeah.
[00:41:57] It's the, yeah.
[00:41:58] It's, yeah.
[00:41:58] Between this and Strange New Worlds, like, I'm just, it's, it's, it's so fun to like, be so into Star Trek again.
[00:42:07] Like, I never not loved it.
[00:42:09] I always loved it.
[00:42:10] But you just go through lulls where you're like, okay, I've seen that so many times.
[00:42:13] I don't need to watch it.
[00:42:14] Or, oh, I don't really like that show as much.
[00:42:16] Or I don't really like this character as much.
[00:42:18] But these two shows, especially this season and Strange New Worlds have been so much fun to watch.
[00:42:24] Um, I do really enjoy Lower Decks, too.
[00:42:27] I just find it really funny.
[00:42:28] And there's so many throwbacks and they get good guest stars.
[00:42:31] But, um, yeah, I hope we get lots of Strange New Worlds.
[00:42:34] I want lots of seasons of it.
[00:42:35] It's really good.
[00:42:36] So.
[00:42:36] Yeah, me too.
[00:42:37] I like that it's just like an exploratory kind of show.
[00:42:40] Like, how Star Trek's supposed to be in is a little bit more lighthearted, sort of.
[00:42:45] Yeah.
[00:42:48] All right.
[00:42:49] That's it.
[00:42:49] That's all.
[00:42:50] I don't have anything else.
[00:42:51] Do you have anything else that you want to add?
[00:42:52] Or are you just, are you so excited now you're just going to go watch episode six?
[00:42:56] I should.
[00:42:57] But I, you know, I went ahead and watched episode five without John.
[00:43:01] And so I know that he's already seen it, but it's like so good.
[00:43:04] I kind of want to watch that again with him and then we'll watch episode six.
[00:43:08] And I have episode six pretty much up and ready to go already.
[00:43:11] Yeah, I saw.
[00:43:12] I saw that.
[00:43:13] I was, I started writing and like reading the synopsis.
[00:43:16] I'm like, wait a second.
[00:43:17] I don't think I, I don't remember that.
[00:43:19] And I was like, she did both.
[00:43:21] Got ahead of the game.
[00:43:23] Cool.
[00:43:24] All right.
[00:43:25] Well, that's it.
[00:43:25] That's all for another episode of rewind featuring season three of Picard season three.
[00:43:32] Yep.
[00:43:33] That's right.
[00:43:34] That's right.
[00:43:35] Oh my God.
[00:43:35] This non-alcoholic beer is going on.
[00:43:37] Go ahead.
[00:43:37] Jesus.
[00:43:38] It's not as good, but it's all right.
[00:43:40] It's Bex.
[00:43:41] You know what?
[00:43:42] That's not bad.
[00:43:44] The Bex is not bad.
[00:43:44] It tastes like beer.
[00:43:45] Yeah, exactly.
[00:43:46] That's kind of like all you're looking for sometimes.
[00:43:49] I'll put a lime in it.
[00:43:49] I'll put a lime in the next one.
[00:43:51] Put a lime on it.
[00:43:52] Yeah.
[00:43:53] Other than that, I'm going to just start getting stuff ready to make some homemade pizzas
[00:43:56] and try to avoid any spoilers for game seven because we'll watch it when Brad gets home.
[00:44:02] Yeah.
[00:44:03] Oh, I didn't tell you my, my former exec director called my current director and was like, can
[00:44:11] we have Sarah back early?
[00:44:13] Really?
[00:44:14] I'm in demand.
[00:44:14] You are though, dude.
[00:44:16] Like I'm going back.
[00:44:17] I would love to see a graphic of like where you've been in the last five years, just work
[00:44:24] wise.
[00:44:25] Oh my God.
[00:44:25] I've been all over the map.
[00:44:26] Yeah.
[00:44:27] But yeah.
[00:44:28] So I'm going back in September instead of the end of November.
[00:44:31] All right.
[00:44:32] Great.
[00:44:33] I'm excited.
[00:44:34] Is that still security programs?
[00:44:36] I'm at security programs.
[00:44:37] Oh, okay.
[00:44:38] Going back to records.
[00:44:41] Yeah.
[00:44:41] Jim G I M.
[00:44:43] Nice.
[00:44:43] Yeah.
[00:44:44] You're.
[00:44:46] Yeah.
[00:44:47] All right.
[00:44:47] That's it.
[00:44:48] That's all.
