[00:00:00] Hey, this is Ashley Sharp-Chessnut and I'm on SyFy Sistas.
[00:00:30] Hey everybody, welcome to the SyFy Sistas podcast where we give you our point of view.
[00:00:40] I'm Tamia Harper and I'm joined today by my sisters, Evette Blackmonton.
[00:00:45] Hello.
[00:00:46] Sabrina Wood, Woo-woo, and Fran T.
[00:00:50] What's happening?
[00:00:52] What's happening Fran?
[00:00:54] What's happening is that we got a great guest again for you today and we're really, really
[00:00:59] excited that she's here.
[00:01:00] We've tried to get her for a long time and we're super stoked.
[00:01:04] You know her, she's a wonderful actress and but you know her Trekkies from season three
[00:01:10] of Picard playing Sydney La Forge, Jordy La Forge's daughter.
[00:01:15] We're so delighted to welcome Ashley Sharp-Chessnut to the show.
[00:01:20] Hi Ashley.
[00:01:21] Hi.
[00:01:22] Are you following me?
[00:01:24] Thank you for being here.
[00:01:27] Like I said, we're so excited that you're here.
[00:01:29] We wanted to get you on the show for a long time because when we saw you, we couldn't
[00:01:37] take our eyes off you.
[00:01:38] Like, I mean the first time we met your character, we were like, who's that?
[00:01:42] And she's awesome and please can we have a lot more of her, right?
[00:01:47] Like, right guys?
[00:01:48] Yeah, exactly.
[00:01:49] Big smile, big smile.
[00:01:50] Yeah.
[00:01:51] Yeah.
[00:01:52] Like, I was afraid that we were just going to see you for a second and you know, and then
[00:01:57] like they were going to find some way to not have as a prominent character and I was like, oh no.
[00:02:02] Yeah.
[00:02:03] Bella, she's dead.
[00:02:04] Right.
[00:02:05] That's what I thought.
[00:02:06] But nope, everyone, every single episode.
[00:02:11] Yeah.
[00:02:12] Because a lot of people thought that my character by the end would probably be dead.
[00:02:17] So yeah.
[00:02:18] Yeah.
[00:02:19] They kept me, yeah.
[00:02:20] Yeah.
[00:02:21] She's black and she's not dead.
[00:02:25] She made it through.
[00:02:28] That's wonderful, especially on the card.
[00:02:32] Right?
[00:02:33] And we didn't have to make any more, right?
[00:02:35] Because the card didn't have a good track record with us.
[00:02:38] The first person he killed was the black man.
[00:02:41] The first one.
[00:02:42] The season one.
[00:02:43] The first episode.
[00:02:44] The first episode.
[00:02:45] It was like there for like three minutes and they were like, oh, got to go.
[00:02:50] Put a knife in you.
[00:02:52] Okay.
[00:02:53] So yeah, we get that's a tangent that we could go on for.
[00:02:58] Yeah, we're going to leave that alone.
[00:03:00] Yeah, we're going to stop.
[00:03:01] That's a whole nother show.
[00:03:02] The fact of the matter is they got it right with you and we're so happy.
[00:03:05] Yeah.
[00:03:06] And you know, we're happy not only.
[00:03:10] We're happy on a couple of fronts because number one, we're happy that Jordi LaForge has a family.
[00:03:14] And number two, we're happy that you are the person playing his daughter because you just bring so much to the screen for us.
[00:03:24] But before we get into all the screen stuff, I want to go back to childhood because I know I've seen you on other interviews and you've talked about your mom being a tricky.
[00:03:35] Oh, got it.
[00:03:36] And being raised with, you know, in intrek, wait, I mean, your mom was a tricky, but were you a tricky to or was it just like, oh,
[00:03:43] I kind of know this because it's around.
[00:03:46] Yeah, I kind of knew of the world.
[00:03:48] I wasn't as invested as she was, but like I knew of Lingo.
[00:03:52] I knew from an all-in-one like I wasn't completely blind coming to this.
[00:03:57] But yeah, but I mean, I've seen a couple episodes before I even started shooting this.
[00:04:01] Like I knew of, you know, the universe.
[00:04:04] But yeah, I wasn't as deep into it as she was.
[00:04:10] So, but you, but the crazy part is that you chose Jordy LaForge as your icon, right?
[00:04:17] Yeah.
[00:04:18] I mean, I was looking obsessed with love our Burton just from reading Rainbow 2.
[00:04:21] I know.
[00:04:23] But I mean, everybody knows of, you know, Jordy.
[00:04:26] So I feel like I just love the picture.
[00:04:28] I loved of you, like the Star Trek world anyway.
[00:04:31] And I just felt like, I don't know.
[00:04:34] Yeah, I just wanted to profile picture.
[00:04:36] And then I guess by default, you know, seeing Instagram, opening up the app every day,
[00:04:40] you're like low key manifesting, you know, and graining it into like your subconscious.
[00:04:45] And so I started to like do a little bit more things around my house.
[00:04:49] I'm like, let me just, you know, yeah.
[00:04:52] That's what it is out there.
[00:04:54] Right? Is that down to the universe?
[00:04:56] Yes, see what happens.
[00:04:58] Did you know which role you were going for when you went to read when you auditioned?
[00:05:03] No, absolutely not.
[00:05:05] I only knew, I mean in my head, I figured it had to only be, you know, either Jordy or like Michael
[00:05:11] Dorne's, you know, Worf's character.
[00:05:13] Right.
[00:05:14] Yeah, no, I didn't know until maybe a week or two before shooting, yeah.
[00:05:19] That's so cool.
[00:05:20] Did your mom, did your mom freak out?
[00:05:22] Oh, God, she was in the room with me when I got the call.
[00:05:24] Oh, I know.
[00:05:25] So I was more surreal because she, because I just moved to LA.
[00:05:30] And she was helping me move in.
[00:05:32] We were in her hotel room and she was like laying on the bed, sorry, like sirens.
[00:05:37] And I get a call from my agent.
[00:05:40] They're like, I put it on speaker and they were like, uh, actually, of course you book star track,
[00:05:44] but not only are you going to be on the show, you're going to be playing Jordy LaForge's daughter.
[00:05:50] And my mom just went crazy.
[00:05:52] She's like, I'm trying not to like lose.
[00:05:55] It was, it was the cutest thing ever.
[00:05:58] It was so cute.
[00:06:00] That's so awesome.
[00:06:02] That's awesome.
[00:06:03] Yeah, Jordy, Jordy is special to us.
[00:06:05] You know, we've done a, I mean, LaVar Burton is special to us.
[00:06:08] Yeah.
[00:06:09] I mean, for just all in his own right, but Jordy as a character for us Trekkies that have been around a while.
[00:06:16] You know, he's so dear.
[00:06:18] He's so special.
[00:06:19] We had, we've talked about it.
[00:06:21] We had a whole show dedicated to LaVar Burton and Jordy.
[00:06:26] And, you know, we talked about like the, the misadventures.
[00:06:31] Jordy's love misadventures, right?
[00:06:33] Yeah.
[00:06:34] And, um, you know, how it was on one hand, like they really didn't give him a lot of positive
[00:06:44] relationships that we could see with Jordy on screen.
[00:06:48] You know, and, you know, he was really bereft.
[00:06:51] And, and then his mom, you know, his mom was a Starfleet captain, but we never met her because what guys?
[00:06:56] She's dead.
[00:06:57] We're women.
[00:06:58] Yeah.
[00:06:59] She's dead.
[00:07:00] You know, you know, um, and so he, you know, he never had much family.
[00:07:06] You know, the enterprise crew was his family.
[00:07:10] Um, but I love seeing this relationship now with him like this iteration of Jordy,
[00:07:16] but this blood family and especially a black family, you know, even though we didn't get to meet mom,
[00:07:23] I would have loved to have met, you know, Sydney LeForge's mother.
[00:07:28] Um, but, you know, but we saw Jordy with his daughters and we finally got to see a positive,
[00:07:36] really black family relationship on there.
[00:07:39] Did that, did that way on you at all while you were preparing for you?
[00:07:45] What was your biggest role?
[00:07:47] I think so.
[00:07:48] In a way, I mean, if you're talking about black representation specifically for sure,
[00:07:51] I mean, you know, the stereotype that black fathers aren't really present in their kids' lives
[00:07:55] and the fact that I'm not this prominent black character who, you know, is like a force in, you know,
[00:08:02] this world and has a high ranking position and um, holds a lot of power.
[00:08:07] I mean, it's, it goes to like the whole like NEPO baby thing, you know, it's like,
[00:08:11] um, yeah, or just kind of, I mean, NEPO isn't but like in a good way.
[00:08:15] You know, this family dynamic, it's really beautiful to see on screen.
[00:08:21] It is.
[00:08:22] The sisters, you know, you know, your parents have done something and you look at each other and say,
[00:08:28] oh my gosh, let me, you know, when you are, she said, I'll see what I can do.
[00:08:32] I'm like, look at the sisters.
[00:08:34] They're mine.
[00:08:35] Right.
[00:08:36] I love that part too, that they, you know, the sisters had a very positive relationship.
[00:08:42] Um, there was no, because sometimes they like to, you know, show just,
[00:08:46] there was no reason for it.
[00:08:47] There was so much else going on.
[00:08:49] Let's just see this positive family, you know, Jory, he was just trying to protect his, his daughters,
[00:08:56] which, you know, all fathers do.
[00:08:58] So I just, um, I love that fact that they didn't go there with the sisters because I,
[00:09:03] you know, it could have been budding heads and, you know, who needed that?
[00:09:07] You know, there was so much else going on.
[00:09:09] But the loving relationship between you and Alondra, I think that was her name, right?
[00:09:14] Alondra did a guitar.
[00:09:15] Alondra was great.
[00:09:16] I love that because they both stuck up for each other and she definitely had your back.
[00:09:21] And I, I just loved seeing that all that positivity, um, was not lost on, on, on,
[00:09:29] on this audience, you know, that made a, that made a big difference.
[00:09:32] On watching, you know, why we love, we love TMG.
[00:09:36] But this was, that was really special that Jordie had a family.
[00:09:41] And he had two daughters that were competent.
[00:09:44] You know, um, they were in Starfleet and they, they had, you know, big roles
[00:09:50] and they had morals and all the stuff that we love about Jordie were in those two characters,
[00:09:55] which I just totally love that, you know, it made a big difference.
[00:09:58] I definitely made a difference to me because Jordie has such, you know, he's that guy.
[00:10:05] You know, he's that guy that stands up for what's right and I love that his, his daughters had that same,
[00:10:11] those same moral ethics that was great.
[00:10:14] Yeah.
[00:10:15] That was just a thought.
[00:10:17] When I remember first seeing you, it was so funny.
[00:10:22] And though you're going to remember this when Picard and him came on the bridge,
[00:10:27] and you standing there just a grinning with the beautiful smile and everything.
[00:10:32] And he introduced, and you still standing there grinning and he said,
[00:10:37] he said, well, what's wrong with that?
[00:10:40] Because what's over her?
[00:10:42] And it's all a forge.
[00:10:43] Get to you say, he's a lover and then the crash of the forge came up.
[00:10:47] Yeah.
[00:10:48] And then look on your face was like, what the hell?
[00:10:51] Why y'all bring that up?
[00:10:52] I mean, that's who we don't think.
[00:10:55] You say, you said, well, you know what?
[00:10:57] I was a cadet.
[00:10:58] You know, he said two times and then that's what Picard said, okay, we all okay.
[00:11:02] That's enough.
[00:11:03] Right.
[00:11:04] Yeah.
[00:11:05] You know, I thought that was so cute.
[00:11:07] It was really cute.
[00:11:08] It was.
[00:11:09] And it was.
[00:11:10] You know, both some humor into some, look, not laughing at you but trying to laugh with you.
[00:11:19] Yeah.
[00:11:20] There's a difference.
[00:11:22] Yeah.
[00:11:23] So thank you for that.
[00:11:25] You have that in common because crash is also my nickname.
[00:11:28] Stop it.
[00:11:29] It's not really any of these things.
[00:11:32] It's true.
[00:11:33] Here, come on.
[00:11:34] What's going on?
[00:11:35] No.
[00:11:36] It's no better than your backstory of being called crash and we're not even going to get into it but everybody.
[00:11:41] I know you go tell.
[00:11:42] No way you brought it up.
[00:11:43] Yeah, you did.
[00:11:44] You go tell.
[00:11:45] You go out of it.
[00:11:46] You know, people give you a nickname.
[00:11:47] You just keep that nickname.
[00:11:48] You embrace it.
[00:11:50] What happened to Vegas?
[00:11:51] What happened to Vegas?
[00:11:52] Stays and Vegas.
[00:11:53] That's all I can say.
[00:11:54] There was another sci-fi sister present who actually knows that story so.
[00:12:00] But crash.
[00:12:01] Nice to meet you.
[00:12:02] It involved virtual reality in Vegas.
[00:12:06] Okay.
[00:12:07] Wow.
[00:12:08] See, I said, you said what's what's what happens to Vegas stays in Vegas.
[00:12:15] I said nothing.
[00:12:16] The person who wasn't in Vegas violated that role.
[00:12:21] But it doesn't.
[00:12:22] I just gave a little little smidge it.
[00:12:25] Yeah, I just wanted to have that in my deal.
[00:12:27] You'll really connected to you.
[00:12:29] Did you did you feel a lot of, I mean, obviously there's pressure coming in playing a role like this but with their traits of like
[00:12:42] Jordy that you were trying to embody that like, you know, his daughter might have inherited from him.
[00:12:48] Did you ever bring or were you approaching the role like no she's her own, she's her own woman in every way?
[00:12:55] A little bit of I, I've isolated between both of them because I felt like she was trying to make a name for her own self.
[00:13:02] Because she already had the Lecord name attached to her.
[00:13:05] Right.
[00:13:06] And I mean, everybody already knows like, oh, this is your dad.
[00:13:09] So you kind of want to differentiate yourself in a way.
[00:13:12] And so I felt like I, I really wanted her to create her own isms if you will.
[00:13:17] The granted, I mean there's like the hand holding thing.
[00:13:19] I mean, Nika talked about it in an interview as well about the holding of our hands specifically.
[00:13:24] So at one point or maybe like a couple of times I do do that but,
[00:13:27] it's part, you know, it was very like Sydney's own mannerisms and things.
[00:13:34] She felt very much like her own woman and I think that so many of us look either.
[00:13:39] I mean, I fell in love with her character because I wanted to be her.
[00:13:44] You know, but at the same time I could also identify with her like she wasn't so far out of reach you know,
[00:13:50] she was very human and especially these interpersonal relationships between moms,
[00:13:55] between parents and kids.
[00:13:57] And you know, it just felt so real to me.
[00:14:01] Parents wanting us to parents trying to protect us,
[00:14:05] you know, or wanting us to follow in their own footsteps all the time.
[00:14:10] I mean, that's super real to me.
[00:14:12] You know, my mother was so ecstatic that I'm actually working for her now.
[00:14:18] Like, I mean, like it's been, you know, but I mean, it's a struggle.
[00:14:22] You know, them having the ideas and hopes and dreams that they have for us versus our own goals in life
[00:14:32] and carving out our own identities.
[00:14:34] And I felt her struggle with that.
[00:14:38] Sure. Yeah.
[00:14:41] It's tough. It's tough on the other side.
[00:14:44] And we always talk about this how, you know, I'm the mother of adult children.
[00:14:50] So I get that. I totally got everything that I was definitely my daughter's the old time.
[00:14:57] You're already tied to her. She was already so much.
[00:15:01] She was like, how the hell is he?
[00:15:04] Oh, like these people have got this child out there. They should know better.
[00:15:09] How else was he supposed to react? Honestly.
[00:15:13] I mean, I hear it. I hear it.
[00:15:17] But she's a grown woman. She's making her own decisions.
[00:15:21] Yeah. It takes a minute. It believe me.
[00:15:23] Growing children are hard. They're very hard because of, you know, these were the children you raised.
[00:15:29] And then all of a sudden you got to say, okay, I'm just going to step back.
[00:15:33] Yeah, that's not an easy thing. So I got Jordy.
[00:15:37] What he was going through. Because I could feel that, you know, yeah, I definitely was on Jordy's side.
[00:15:44] Even though I am with this parents through the same thing.
[00:15:47] You know, Jordy had two star-fleet parents and he went in, you know, this child that had a disability on top of it all.
[00:15:56] I was making up, you know, they were like, oh my god. Is he going to make it? He's going to make friends what's going to happen.
[00:16:01] And he still became the daddy.
[00:16:04] And it's just given you a way to go. My goodness.
[00:16:07] These sight impaired pilots.
[00:16:10] He first came on because he wasn't the engineer.
[00:16:13] You know, and Jordy is a big deal.
[00:16:16] I know I think I'm kind of rushing ahead but.
[00:16:20] Shaw and Jordy, the interaction when he first met him and he was fan-girling.
[00:16:27] The captain was fan-girling Jordy LaForge because you know, he's this legendary engineer.
[00:16:34] And I love that part because you know, Shaw is, you know, I'm the captain and.
[00:16:39] And you know, no, you know, but he couldn't, you know, he was, you know, slipping all over his words today.
[00:16:46] But then my little Shaw, not Mr. I say no Shaw.
[00:16:50] Oh, but rafting all that can't say nothing, fan-girling because it's Jordy LaForge.
[00:16:56] I love that part.
[00:16:58] I love that part.
[00:16:59] I love that part of the book but Jordy can't know.
[00:17:01] He shouldn't do it.
[00:17:03] He could put some pride in Riker in a book.
[00:17:07] He would be in the book box.
[00:17:09] But he would be in just Jordy LaForge.
[00:17:12] He was an engineer.
[00:17:14] He was an engineer.
[00:17:16] And Jordy has this, you know, reputation.
[00:17:18] He was on a flagship and then he's a Commodore and he's on my ship.
[00:17:22] It's a beautiful moment.
[00:17:26] It was.
[00:17:27] It was because seven and seven and was a seven and seven and Riker looked at each other when he was standing.
[00:17:37] Seven was looking at somebody like, oh, this is not a character for him.
[00:17:41] Yeah, for sure.
[00:17:42] Because it's time.
[00:17:43] I mean, he was being a jerk, you know, and then you find Jordy and it's like, uh-uh-uh.
[00:17:47] And it's like, you can't.
[00:17:49] Okay.
[00:17:50] Yeah.
[00:17:51] Yeah.
[00:17:52] And that's just the dip, the dip thing from Chicago and they call themselves.
[00:17:58] Yeah.
[00:17:59] You know?
[00:18:00] So.
[00:18:01] So I go ahead for you.
[00:18:03] No, no, no.
[00:18:04] Okay.
[00:18:05] I was just saying so dot, dot, dot.
[00:18:07] I wanted to ask you about that fight scene that you had.
[00:18:14] Oh, because I saw this one interview when you somebody asked you about like your, your
[00:18:21] dancing and your dance training and how that might have played because I, and I, it made me think of Michelle
[00:18:28] Yo because we know that she started as a dancer to you.
[00:18:31] And I was like, hmm, can we have a black Michelle?
[00:18:34] Yo.
[00:18:35] But was it fun for you to do that?
[00:18:39] I mean, how did you, how did it work for you?
[00:18:41] It was so much fun.
[00:18:42] I mean, it was my first time like doing stunt work and having rehearsals for these fight,
[00:18:48] that fight sequence.
[00:18:49] I mean, there are a couple other fight scene sequences that we have that got cut out.
[00:18:53] But yeah, I, I've talked about this before but it's really interesting being able to do
[00:19:00] that while filming because there's so many like cut action cuts in between.
[00:19:06] So it's like you have to get yourself like riled up to do the choreography again as if
[00:19:10] you're doing it for the first time.
[00:19:11] So I had another level of respect for like our stunt performers, like my stunt double
[00:19:17] seeing it like so many people.
[00:19:19] I just, I didn't know that's what went into like these stunts and fight rehearsals and
[00:19:26] things like that.
[00:19:27] You want to do it again?
[00:19:29] Of course.
[00:19:30] You know, perhaps.
[00:19:32] That is great.
[00:19:33] Oh nice.
[00:19:34] Yeah, I would like that.
[00:19:35] Yes, yes, yes.
[00:19:36] Well, you're home like before you, you're also a stage actress, right?
[00:19:45] Yes.
[00:19:46] Yeah.
[00:19:47] And you know, so we keep thinking we ask this all the time to people and I hate asking
[00:19:51] it but I'm going to ask it anyway because it's still interesting to us.
[00:19:55] You know, the difference between stage and TV and especially now that TV is made more
[00:20:03] like a movie, you know, you know, where's your comfort level or are you just like totally
[00:20:10] open and enjoying it all?
[00:20:12] Or, you know, I mean, is theater your heart?
[00:20:17] I think it's a mixture of both.
[00:20:18] I think because I started off with theater, I got my break doing Broadway so I think theater
[00:20:25] is always going to be a part of me.
[00:20:27] I'd love to go back to Broadway but I'm definitely enjoying this television ride.
[00:20:32] I'm not going to lie.
[00:20:33] I think, I mean, not to be the money is great in TV.
[00:20:38] I'm not going to lie but like, they're just they just offer me two different things that
[00:20:44] I just really love.
[00:20:45] I think Broadway specific or even off Broadway any type of theater you're able to like
[00:20:51] feed off of the audience and the energy and everything.
[00:20:54] Not just say that you don't have that with television and film like your crew is technically
[00:20:57] like your audience but it's nice to actually have people who like pay to watch your stuff.
[00:21:02] They're trying to enjoy it.
[00:21:04] You know, it's it's just a different energy but I love both.
[00:21:08] I know.
[00:21:09] Yeah.
[00:21:10] We can abroad way.
[00:21:11] I have a question.
[00:21:12] Yes.
[00:21:13] I know what it is.
[00:21:14] Have you ever been on low and order?
[00:21:17] No, I haven't.
[00:21:18] I've auditioned for one of them so many times.
[00:21:21] So many times never booked it.
[00:21:23] Really?
[00:21:24] Never booked it.
[00:21:25] Yeah.
[00:21:26] What's wrong with you, low and order people?
[00:21:27] Right.
[00:21:28] I'm going to get it.
[00:21:29] Yeah.
[00:21:30] Come on.
[00:21:31] What the day?
[00:21:32] We're like, we love her.
[00:21:33] What is that about?
[00:21:34] Can we keep her?
[00:21:35] You know, it was love at first sight.
[00:21:36] That's crazy that you said that it was a little bit like, yeah.
[00:21:39] What's that?
[00:21:40] You know, what's that?
[00:21:41] Who's that black woman sitting at the hill?
[00:21:51] Yeah.
[00:21:52] Right.
[00:21:53] Right.
[00:21:54] Come on.
[00:21:55] The minute you had to help me.
[00:21:57] Oh, yeah.
[00:21:58] And now that's that ground beer, bread person.
[00:22:03] A foreground literally and fricate.
[00:22:06] Yeah.
[00:22:07] That's right.
[00:22:08] Be in the shot all the time.
[00:22:11] Like were you hip to that?
[00:22:13] Like the importance of that?
[00:22:16] Yes, I get it.
[00:22:18] I'm not trying to say that in a patronizing way because I just realized as I was saying
[00:22:21] that that sounded really stupid.
[00:22:24] But just how trekkies like for us in our lore to have a black person in that position, you
[00:22:33] know, I don't know like were you hip to like how big of that might be for us?
[00:22:38] Absolutely.
[00:22:39] I think definitely being yeah, I mean on the bridge in general but definitely being upfront.
[00:22:44] I mean especially piloting the ship.
[00:22:46] That's a big deal.
[00:22:47] I mean as my mom told me, yeah, it was definitely just.
[00:22:52] I think you know going in and then also just always knowing like even when we were shooting,
[00:22:58] always seeing the cameras.
[00:22:59] It's like, oh, I'm literally an almost ever shot like in a film.
[00:23:04] Yeah, definitely was a huge deal.
[00:23:07] I thought about Michelle when I was watching you, well watching you but watching the position
[00:23:15] you were in because Michelle was always in the background.
[00:23:18] She always was in the shot with Kirk because she was right behind him.
[00:23:22] And that's just what I was thinking of when you know when you were on the bridge,
[00:23:26] you were always in the shot and I was like, I'm loving this.
[00:23:29] It's just a just seeing you makes such a big difference just and to have a really good
[00:23:36] meaty role that also, you know, you can have them.
[00:23:41] They did that.
[00:23:42] I remember watching TNG when it first came on.
[00:23:45] And I don't know if you guys remember Ensign Raker came on and she was the first.
[00:23:49] It was a big deal because of the first time a black woman was piling the ship
[00:23:54] and she didn't really have any words.
[00:23:57] She would say yes captain, you know that's pretty much it but she was just there.
[00:24:01] But this time you weren't just there.
[00:24:04] You had an important part.
[00:24:06] You came in important because the last name was LaForge.
[00:24:10] And you know that you met somebody who were part of your part of Canon,
[00:24:14] you're part of I mean because they talked about you and all good things.
[00:24:18] Your name was already mentioned that Jordi had these two daughters already.
[00:24:23] So you've been in Canon before you probably was.
[00:24:29] Yeah but I was just thinking of all of that and how this all means.
[00:24:34] I mean, I really wanted you on this show as you could tell.
[00:24:40] And the fact that I'm sorry.
[00:24:43] No, I just thought it was very important that we talk to you.
[00:24:46] And the fact that you can actually act.
[00:24:50] Yes.
[00:24:51] Thank God.
[00:24:53] Thank you for this.
[00:24:55] That was key too.
[00:24:57] That was key.
[00:24:58] You can actually act.
[00:25:01] You know both daughters on there were up there acting y'all's butts off.
[00:25:05] Go ahead now.
[00:25:07] You know.
[00:25:09] Definitely, go ahead.
[00:25:11] Sabrina, you were about to say something.
[00:25:13] Oh no no.
[00:25:14] I was just saying that it was such a great feeling to see you there like they said because you know Jordi had that position too and it was just so great when they said the name.
[00:25:25] And I mean, I know it was saying it over and over and over but it was the best thing for me watching the part.
[00:25:32] I love that everybody coming back and all that stuff.
[00:25:35] But what I really did love was like the same.
[00:25:37] The intact family that Jordi had and we did see this taste of it from all good things.
[00:25:43] You know when they projected it into the future and we read the books and see you come to life was really great.
[00:25:49] And it was especially great to watch this intact family.
[00:25:52] You know, know that his family was still together because the drama was all about this other family that was in total disarray.
[00:25:59] And even though we had a child, you know, everything was all crazy and see what happens when that happens.
[00:26:06] But to watch Jordi who we've like loved for so long.
[00:26:10] You know, we've got Jordi Bay is all over here.
[00:26:13] It was just a really big thing and we just love to have you on this show.
[00:26:18] Oh, I have a question for you.
[00:26:20] Did you know they were going to ship you in this show?
[00:26:22] Did you know that when the show started that they were going to try to make something happen between you and the card?
[00:26:28] No, I didn't know.
[00:26:30] No, I had no idea.
[00:26:31] Not until I got the money from the script.
[00:26:33] No, no, no.
[00:26:34] I was like, what's going on here?
[00:26:37] I like the joke of I was not making that in here.
[00:26:40] I was not making that in here.
[00:26:41] I was not making that in here.
[00:26:43] Yeah, I mean, yeah, no, I had no idea.
[00:26:46] Because initially I only thought that I was going to be in like two to three episodes max.
[00:26:51] Oh wow.
[00:26:52] I know that I'd be in all 10.
[00:26:54] And so they would release the scripts obviously cryptically, so nothing was leaked.
[00:26:59] But yeah, no, I didn't know.
[00:27:01] Yeah, until that came up into the script and I was like, oh, interesting.
[00:27:06] Yeah, no.
[00:27:07] That's good.
[00:27:08] That means you'll stay around.
[00:27:10] If you're in if you've got a relationship with the key character,
[00:27:13] character, that means you're coming back for whatever they bring up.
[00:27:18] I'm going to say it again.
[00:27:20] Hospital.
[00:27:21] Yeah.
[00:27:22] Look, CBS please.
[00:27:24] Yeah, right.
[00:27:25] CBS like, y'all better read the tea leaves baby because all of us are like,
[00:27:31] I mean, all of us want this spin off.
[00:27:34] All of us.
[00:27:35] Like, yeah, there's a single person out there who watched this, watched the season three.
[00:27:40] It wasn't like, I need to see these characters again.
[00:27:44] I mean, for us, particularly though, it was you.
[00:27:48] I'm like, honestly, I don't care if I see Picard, Santa, good?
[00:27:51] I like him and everything.
[00:27:52] He's cool.
[00:27:53] He's nice.
[00:27:54] He's cool.
[00:27:55] He's cool.
[00:27:56] Have a relationship.
[00:27:57] I love it.
[00:27:58] Okay.
[00:27:59] Well, that's fine.
[00:28:00] You could have relationships.
[00:28:01] He can make sure you're there.
[00:28:02] He can be there.
[00:28:03] He can be there too.
[00:28:05] But our goal is to make sure that you were there.
[00:28:09] You know, and I mean, we like him too.
[00:28:11] Don't get us wrong.
[00:28:12] He's adorable and like his character and it's so complex and it's really cool.
[00:28:17] But our focus and we like, we need Sidney LaForge back.
[00:28:22] And we need you as Sidney LaForge back.
[00:28:25] You know, because that's what we want to tell Paramount.
[00:28:28] So if you're listening Paramount.
[00:28:30] And we know you are.
[00:28:33] We better be seeing more Sidney LaForge.
[00:28:38] We better be seeing more Sidney LaForge back on that bridge.
[00:28:41] Well, when they, when they position, when you saw the position of,
[00:28:46] positional dynamics and seven and nine was the first officer of this ship.
[00:28:56] I'm thinking in my head, she's the first officer of this ship.
[00:29:00] The captain is going to get it.
[00:29:02] You know, I had this was in my head from the beginning guys.
[00:29:06] She's the first officer.
[00:29:08] Something's going to happen there because seven or nine is really, really fact.
[00:29:13] She's a fantastic character and she's wildly popular with the trackies.
[00:29:19] And I think her being, you know, with those first officer and then him gone,
[00:29:24] I think there's something up.
[00:29:26] I really do.
[00:29:27] I really think there's something up and I think that's going to be a spin off.
[00:29:31] I really do.
[00:29:32] I think they just put it up there for nothing.
[00:29:34] I don't.
[00:29:35] Yeah.
[00:29:36] But that's me, that's me in my head.
[00:29:38] I'm like, okay, wait a minute.
[00:29:39] I'm not CBS or Paramount or whatever.
[00:29:41] But seven of nine first officer.
[00:29:45] Yeah, the Titan.
[00:29:47] Yeah.
[00:29:48] Yeah.
[00:29:49] And that's up.
[00:29:52] I mean, that's my point.
[00:29:54] It is up to spin off.
[00:29:57] I want to spin on all the characters a back.
[00:30:04] Yes, with all the characters because you all were great.
[00:30:08] All the characters were great.
[00:30:10] I was sad when they killed off Navin.
[00:30:15] Navin.
[00:30:16] Navin.
[00:30:17] Navin.
[00:30:18] I'm sorry.
[00:30:19] I was like, oh my god, I'm all these.
[00:30:22] No.
[00:30:23] You know?
[00:30:24] You know?
[00:30:25] You know.
[00:30:26] So are you going to cry?
[00:30:28] Don't cry.
[00:30:29] No, I'm not going to cry.
[00:30:31] Okay, that's okay.
[00:30:32] It's not, it's not, it's not the cry worth.
[00:30:34] Okay, thanks.
[00:30:35] It's not a cry with my, yeah, I don't know this but my daughter, I have adult children and she
[00:30:42] calls me cry baby sometimes.
[00:30:44] Oh, I'm really, really sensitive.
[00:30:48] I'm shocked.
[00:30:49] I'm really sensitive.
[00:30:54] You know, I want to see, sit me again.
[00:30:59] That's the only reason we're having this show is so that we can say that like multiple times over and over again.
[00:31:07] Thank you for being here.
[00:31:09] We're going to keep saying it.
[00:31:12] Okay, so I do have, and I do have questions about you being like a,
[00:31:18] a young black actress, you know, in this world today.
[00:31:24] Like what?
[00:31:25] It's hard to narrow this down.
[00:31:29] Okay, in your experience, how has it been for you trying to get substantive roles?
[00:31:40] Are you seeing people pitching roles to you that are just typical?
[00:31:47] Or are you seeing a difference in the types of roles that are coming?
[00:31:52] And I wonder that, and I asked that because there's a generation gap, you know, between us and you.
[00:31:57] Like when we're coming up with really used to talking to people who are older
[00:32:04] and it's just like, okay, you're a hooker, you're a gang banger, you're a drug addict, you know,
[00:32:11] like very stereotypical roles, but I'm wondering what it's like now.
[00:32:17] Yeah, sure.
[00:32:18] I think it's both there are certain things that cross,
[00:32:23] that's certain things that cross my path that I do pass on,
[00:32:26] that I just don't feel that those roles are in alignment with the.
[00:32:33] Not only the career that I'm cultivating for myself,
[00:32:36] but the career that I want to push forward and represent.
[00:32:43] But I mean, I will say some, the other roles that I do get like this one, you know,
[00:32:49] that does project the black community and an abut, and a beautiful light.
[00:32:54] I do say yes to those. I do audition for those.
[00:32:57] I don't always book them, but I'm just glad those stories are being told.
[00:33:01] And it just, it provides an outlook or perspective for like even kids now days growing up
[00:33:08] and they can see themselves in a positive light.
[00:33:11] It isn't stereotypical because I know like growing up for me,
[00:33:15] like I remember seeing like the freshmen of L.A. or like the cause,
[00:33:18] you know, these beautiful images of black families
[00:33:22] and black people that aren't stereotypical.
[00:33:24] So that's really my goal and like to really just continue to shine a light on black people
[00:33:32] and beautiful, and I keep saying beautiful but like in a beautiful light.
[00:33:36] I mean, that's just like my goal.
[00:33:38] You see that's why we love you because that's our goal too.
[00:33:42] Because you know, I'm going to interject this and then when TNG first came on for me,
[00:33:47] the most popular person on that one, the whole cast was Laval Burton.
[00:33:53] And from roots for me, because I saw that when it first came on those five nights
[00:34:00] that we, oh, Laval Burton, he's going to be on Star Trek.
[00:34:04] That's what I gravitated to.
[00:34:06] Laval Burton, Ruse because that was phenomenal.
[00:34:10] I conic rolled that he created.
[00:34:12] I mean, well, he acted in somebody else created it but you know,
[00:34:17] Laval Burton, you know, and I don't remember any of the other people.
[00:34:26] I don't.
[00:34:27] I mean, when they announced the cast, Laval Burton was it for me.
[00:34:32] And I knew I was going to watch it so.
[00:34:35] Well, him and Will Wheaton were the stars.
[00:34:37] Well, we are.
[00:34:39] Stand by me.
[00:34:40] Was he a dance with me?
[00:34:41] Right.
[00:34:42] There were the ones that were known.
[00:34:44] Sorry, Will.
[00:34:46] We love you, Will.
[00:34:47] But you know, oh yeah, Will Wheaton.
[00:34:51] I just think it's really beautiful that you are, you know,
[00:34:55] like you said, intentionally crafting this career in this way.
[00:35:00] I think it's really admirable and I'm glad you said it here on this show
[00:35:09] because if there's anybody younger coming up, I want them to be able to see
[00:35:15] that it can be done, you know, that standing by your principles
[00:35:20] and standing by your morals, you know, we can win.
[00:35:25] Sometimes we can't, we can be very successful even though the shiny stuff
[00:35:31] looks like it's going to be so great in the short term,
[00:35:35] like you might get a better payoff.
[00:35:37] But you know, but we really do compromise a lot of ourselves
[00:35:42] sometimes.
[00:35:43] You know, I know people got to eat, you know, I'm not throwing judgment out there,
[00:35:47] you know, pickens can be slim sometimes, you know,
[00:35:52] but it's just, it's really, it's really heartening to hear you say that
[00:35:57] and to know that you're making intentional choices.
[00:36:00] Yeah.
[00:36:02] So Ashley, is this, is this tying into,
[00:36:06] you said you were also doing writing,
[00:36:09] and that you would do, you're writing for TV,
[00:36:11] is it, you know, write yourself something nice in Juicy?
[00:36:14] Of course.
[00:36:15] I think that's how I actually started writing.
[00:36:18] Excuse me, I booked a pilot.
[00:36:20] And at one point they like recast the people of color in the show.
[00:36:25] And I was like, oh, it was like my first taste of like Hollywood biting me
[00:36:29] in a negative way.
[00:36:31] And so I, because I have, I always have like these stories in my head
[00:36:35] but I just never put the pen to paper, if you will.
[00:36:40] And that's really what started it.
[00:36:42] And obviously I'm writing for myself,
[00:36:45] but I also want to write for my friends, you know,
[00:36:47] and like people that are like in the hustle with me coming up and yeah,
[00:36:53] that's, that's my writing.
[00:36:55] Yeah.
[00:36:56] But do you have like a certain genre that you like to write?
[00:37:02] I think the common denominator is comedy.
[00:37:05] Oh, it's so far.
[00:37:06] I've written, yeah, I've written a couple screenplays,
[00:37:09] but I'm working on a series right now if I'm working on like the behind
[00:37:13] the scene, like treatment, showbibled things.
[00:37:16] But yeah, but like the common denominator for everything is comedy.
[00:37:19] And people in my life tell me I'm hilarious.
[00:37:22] So hopefully, you know, other people will think that I'm funny too,
[00:37:25] but we'll see.
[00:37:26] Oh, I can't wait to see something coming out of this.
[00:37:29] Yeah, definitely.
[00:37:30] Girl trip.
[00:37:31] No.
[00:37:32] I thought you were going to say sci-fi and I don't know why.
[00:37:41] I know that you like that you were a writer also,
[00:37:47] and I was always, I was kind of wondering,
[00:37:50] did you ever think, because I knew you grew up with Star Trek?
[00:37:53] Did you ever think that there was a story that was missing in Star Trek?
[00:37:57] That you wanted to cultivate or a character that just didn't get there do,
[00:38:03] that you wanted to write?
[00:38:05] I think for myself, I was like,
[00:38:08] because I kind of grew up with the Star Trek movies of Chris Pine and Zoysaldon.
[00:38:12] Okay.
[00:38:13] Growing up, I was like, I think Zoysaldon needs like a younger sister or something.
[00:38:17] Maybe something there who knows.
[00:38:20] But I remember growing up and watching those movies and being like,
[00:38:23] that would be so cool to join in this universe.
[00:38:26] Yeah, do it.
[00:38:28] Rosie?
[00:38:29] Rosie, don't leave.
[00:38:31] Just write it.
[00:38:32] Put it out there.
[00:38:35] We'll read it and tell everybody about it.
[00:38:40] She's our resident Star Trek novel reader fan.
[00:38:46] We'll put it on blast.
[00:38:48] We'll put anything you do on blast.
[00:38:50] We just love you.
[00:38:53] Ashley, isn't it?
[00:38:56] Okay.
[00:38:57] I remember seeing that you followed us.
[00:39:01] I remember when you followed us and I took a picture.
[00:39:04] I took a screenshot.
[00:39:05] She did.
[00:39:06] Just follow.
[00:39:07] That's awesome.
[00:39:08] I mean, the love is real.
[00:39:17] And I know like you see us like dancing around.
[00:39:20] So we're not going to ask you these direct questions that we want.
[00:39:23] But we're just going to say again, Paramount Plus.
[00:39:27] Are you listening because we need Sydney LaForge back on the bridge?
[00:39:32] Do you do?
[00:39:34] I'm going to be a shot on the back.
[00:39:37] Yes.
[00:39:38] That's right.
[00:39:40] It's something.
[00:39:41] It's something that is something in the works.
[00:39:44] I just got to see you.
[00:39:47] I mean, what do you think that we can do to help ensure that that happens?
[00:39:54] I mean, just keep making noise.
[00:39:56] I think that's the biggest thing.
[00:39:58] I've been seeing like the petition online has like exceeded, you know, the amount of signatures
[00:40:01] that I think the last show was a strange new world, I believe.
[00:40:05] Yeah.
[00:40:06] A number of signatures.
[00:40:08] So I feel like we're on the right track.
[00:40:10] We'll see what happens when this writer's strike is done.
[00:40:13] But yeah, I'm hoping.
[00:40:15] Yeah, I am too.
[00:40:16] We're going to keep making the noise.
[00:40:18] Because I mean, like, I mean, I think we're hungry for new track.
[00:40:24] As many people out there who are all like strange new world, strange new worlds.
[00:40:27] And I love that show too.
[00:40:29] I mean, like if it's Trek, I like it pretty much.
[00:40:31] I don't, I might not love it all, but I like it in a track and it's my world.
[00:40:36] It's my universe, right?
[00:40:38] It's my happy place.
[00:40:40] But, you know, we also dying for new characters.
[00:40:44] I mean, and like new stories and new perspectives.
[00:40:47] And there's just so much that we can do.
[00:40:49] I'm kind of tired of sitting in the old stuff.
[00:40:52] You know, we've been there.
[00:40:53] Done that.
[00:40:54] And you guys were decades.
[00:40:56] You know, all of you guys were just so refreshing on the screen.
[00:41:00] You know, I mean, your your your your cast mates are incredible too.
[00:41:03] You know, I mean, that's one thing I love about this season of Picard is just that it was...
[00:41:07] The casting was so strong.
[00:41:09] Everybody had some massive chops and everybody got a chance to really show something.
[00:41:14] I think the way Terry, Mattalis and like the rest of the writers were able to bring out this new...
[00:41:22] This next next generation of us.
[00:41:25] And even talking to Terry outside of this, I mean, he's not done.
[00:41:29] He has vision for where this could go.
[00:41:32] And I think that's what's exciting to know that he's not done.
[00:41:37] And what he's been able to already do with season three,
[00:41:40] I can't even imagine what he's going to be able to do with the spin off, you know?
[00:41:44] Yeah, I mean, he did the phenomenal job.
[00:41:46] Yes, he did it.
[00:41:49] I can't wait to see what else he's got to piss leave like two because I felt very comfortable with the show in his hands.
[00:42:01] Yeah.
[00:42:03] From the first credits and the panning of Beverly ship,
[00:42:09] and those the pearls, the music, and like, oh, it's the way to me that's from Suck and Suck.
[00:42:14] We're rabbit fans.
[00:42:16] That's from Suck and Suck and this happened here and those two ordals froze on the holiday and you know...
[00:42:21] Well, okay, and then Belly jumps up and she's a badass!
[00:42:25] But I think for Terry because he's a fan, he grew up.
[00:42:28] Belly is a true fan and is everything, you know?
[00:42:32] And what are you able to do?
[00:42:34] Tell the whole production team and the writers or fans.
[00:42:38] We said this before, this new iteration of track has a lot of fans in control or creating.
[00:42:47] So it does... I think that's why it works because...
[00:42:51] Don't look up on the screen.
[00:42:52] Right, they show us what they want to see and their fans just like us, you know?
[00:42:56] And they want us to pick out those little things, you know?
[00:43:00] I want to see how many can you pick out.
[00:43:03] It's like a competition.
[00:43:05] Oh, I knew that one.
[00:43:07] But I think it's refreshing to see young people come into this universe.
[00:43:13] And I think that's why we love you so much is because we see...
[00:43:19] We see track continuing.
[00:43:22] And that's all we ever want, you know?
[00:43:25] Because just like your mom, she played it in the house hoping that you would see it.
[00:43:30] Played it in the house hoping that you would get it.
[00:43:33] The same thing happened to me with my mom.
[00:43:35] I didn't get it right away, it took a while but I finally found my track.
[00:43:39] And I think that's what we all want.
[00:43:42] We want our families to understand what we're trying to tell them when we watch this show.
[00:43:47] And why we watch this show.
[00:43:50] And you did it with your daughters too.
[00:43:52] Yeah, my daughters are finally coming to the fold.
[00:43:57] But they had to find their own way in, you know?
[00:44:00] And I think having younger people in that look like them are close to their age,
[00:44:06] it brings them into it and it keeps track going.
[00:44:09] And that's...
[00:44:10] Track going is a big deal because track is very intelligent.
[00:44:13] It's very thought provoking.
[00:44:16] It's about family, it's about characters, about being a human.
[00:44:19] And you want to continue that.
[00:44:21] And I think seeing the same people that look like your parents all the time
[00:44:25] is they're going to get you involved into this universe.
[00:44:28] But we start seeing people that look like you, you know?
[00:44:31] They're like, oh wait, who's these...
[00:44:33] So what's going on?
[00:44:35] You know, and it will bring them in.
[00:44:37] And I see it, you know, when we saw per card my kids were really watching it.
[00:44:42] You know, even my new soon to be son-in-law, like per card.
[00:44:47] You know, he was not feeling sorry to get him.
[00:44:50] But he really liked the last season.
[00:44:54] Ooh, look at her.
[00:44:55] Oh yeah.
[00:44:56] She's flying the ship.
[00:44:57] Right.
[00:44:58] Right.
[00:44:59] Right.
[00:45:00] That's why I want to see it continue.
[00:45:05] Not for the older characters but mainly for all the new characters that we met.
[00:45:10] You know, I want to keep...
[00:45:11] I want when my kids are older, my age, you're the older character.
[00:45:15] And now there's new people coming in.
[00:45:18] After they call you back, they'll call you back with the new awarding of about 35 years.
[00:45:23] Right.
[00:45:24] No joke.
[00:45:25] Be there.
[00:45:26] Well, you're part of the Trek family forever.
[00:45:29] I mean, it will be 20 years from now.
[00:45:31] We'll still be seeing you at the convention.
[00:45:33] Yes.
[00:45:34] My Ashley.
[00:45:36] You know, I think you got involved with any of that, any of the conventions, anything?
[00:45:42] Not yet.
[00:45:43] No, not yet.
[00:45:44] Um, we were trying to do Comic Con in San Diego.
[00:45:47] Oh, mm-hmm.
[00:45:48] There was another convention in the UK that I was getting ready to do.
[00:45:52] I'll post about it when it's official but...
[00:45:55] Okay.
[00:45:56] I definitely do plan on attending concerts.
[00:45:58] Good, good, good, great.
[00:45:59] I'll be great.
[00:46:00] Yeah, everybody.
[00:46:01] I'm about to trek.
[00:46:02] You've got a job for the rest of you.
[00:46:03] You're about to jump.
[00:46:04] Yeah, that's right.
[00:46:07] And the fans...
[00:46:10] I think they would embrace you and I think they're waiting for you.
[00:46:15] Absolutely.
[00:46:16] I know they are.
[00:46:17] They're waiting for you to come into the family and just be out there with us.
[00:46:22] So I can't wait to ask you here.
[00:46:24] And no one can prepare you for that either.
[00:46:27] Right.
[00:46:28] I think people will tell you about it and it happens all when they're again.
[00:46:31] Well, yeah, they told me but I didn't know it would be like that.
[00:46:35] Like Sabrina said, wait till they start cosplaying you.
[00:46:39] Oh, yeah.
[00:46:40] Oh, it's coming.
[00:46:42] I know what you do.
[00:46:43] I can't wait to see it.
[00:46:45] I think we're just representative of the masses of black women out there, young and old,
[00:46:57] who are dying to meet you and to welcome you and to wrap our arms around you and embrace
[00:47:03] you.
[00:47:04] You know, I mean, that's...
[00:47:06] You know, that's what we're here for.
[00:47:08] You give us a lot.
[00:47:09] You know, and we don't take it for granted.
[00:47:11] We love it.
[00:47:12] You know, and we appreciate what you do and how you do it.
[00:47:16] And so like when we go to these conventions, like, I mean, we were just at a convention this past weekend.
[00:47:24] I can't tell you the number of black women who came up to us saying, I can't believe you guys are here.
[00:47:30] Thank God for you.
[00:47:32] I thought I was alone.
[00:47:34] You know, I mean, and it just means so much because, you know, you don't know who's listening all the time, right?
[00:47:40] Like you got people who were super active with us.
[00:47:44] But I mean, these were people that we didn't know, you know, who drove to the convention to see us because they saw that we were there.
[00:47:53] And because it means that much.
[00:47:55] So, you know, just that we know that we're not alone.
[00:47:58] And that's what you're given for folks.
[00:48:01] So we're ready to give that love back to you, trust and believe.
[00:48:05] Yeah, definitely.
[00:48:07] Because it's difficult out there when you don't know...
[00:48:10] When you love a fandom and you want to talk about it and then might not...
[00:48:14] There's no one to talk about it with.
[00:48:16] You have no friends that understand how much you love this thing.
[00:48:20] And then to find those people is like...
[00:48:26] My tribe.
[00:48:28] Yeah, so just know that you make a big difference.
[00:48:33] Ten episodes, it might as well have been a whole series.
[00:48:37] Yeah.
[00:48:38] Because it makes a difference.
[00:48:40] You know, we don't see ourselves as humans on television and screen.
[00:48:46] We're not portrayed as humans.
[00:48:48] We're always magical or something's wrong with us.
[00:48:51] Not just regular people who, you know, and to have you be just a regular person,
[00:48:56] got a job, be on the ship, got a parent that's driving you crazy.
[00:49:01] You know what's...
[00:49:02] Hey, yeah, right.
[00:49:04] Perfect. That's all we need.
[00:49:06] You know, it's all happening and you fly them out of a life and death situation.
[00:49:11] That was fierce too.
[00:49:14] When you piloted the ship out of the...
[00:49:16] Maybe luck.
[00:49:17] We loved it.
[00:49:18] Okay.
[00:49:19] We loved it all.
[00:49:20] Love it all.
[00:49:21] Love it all.
[00:49:22] Crash the forge.
[00:49:23] And the hell.
[00:49:25] Crash the forge when nothing.
[00:49:27] You can go ahead and crash the nothing.
[00:49:29] That's right.
[00:49:30] That's the end.
[00:49:31] That's the end.
[00:49:32] The end is the one that crashed up.
[00:49:33] That's the end.
[00:49:34] That's the end, man.
[00:49:35] That's what I think Wilson has been talking about his wife.
[00:49:38] Right.
[00:49:40] You got him out of it.
[00:49:42] You come back.
[00:49:43] Right.
[00:49:44] Yeah.
[00:49:45] You got him out of that situation.
[00:49:46] I'm like,
[00:49:47] I like the lady that got him out of the Dyson spear.
[00:49:50] She turned the ship to the side.
[00:49:52] It was a social turn to ship to the side and got out of there.
[00:49:55] Is that the answer right here?
[00:49:56] That was the answer right here.
[00:49:57] Yeah, that's the answer right.
[00:49:58] So we had this...
[00:50:00] We did this panel at a convention called The Sisters Who Saved the Ship.
[00:50:04] It was really the ship but we crossed out the tee and put the pee on it.
[00:50:09] And now we've got to add you to that.
[00:50:12] Yes, yes.
[00:50:13] You saved all of them.
[00:50:17] Thank you.
[00:50:18] Because that barking orders as only he can.
[00:50:21] It's counted.
[00:50:23] I'm a lateral, I'm a lateral.
[00:50:26] Okay.
[00:50:29] So before...
[00:50:31] I know your time is brief and you've been really generous with it.
[00:50:34] With us.
[00:50:36] But I want to know, like, is there something that you're working on now?
[00:50:40] Like can you spill any beans on what might be coming up?
[00:50:43] I mean, I know we're about to probably go into a strike.
[00:50:46] But do you have something anything coming out?
[00:50:49] Yeah, right now in select theaters,
[00:50:51] I was in a movie called Our Deadly Vows.
[00:50:54] It's kind of a horror thriller movie.
[00:50:57] I think that's still running.
[00:51:00] But yeah, I mean, still waiting to see.
[00:51:03] I'm still on pins and needles about our potential spin off.
[00:51:07] Yeah, and that's really what's going on at the moment.
[00:51:11] And then just gearing up today was like Emmy nominations.
[00:51:14] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:51:16] The athletic department.
[00:51:18] That was awesome.
[00:51:20] Oh, yes.
[00:51:21] That was awesome.
[00:51:22] I mean, they really deserved it.
[00:51:23] I didn't start a side track but I didn't realize how long the prosthetics take.
[00:51:29] I was, because for like the board makeup, I was here for like over an hour.
[00:51:34] And that was just like,
[00:51:36] I didn't really have like actual prosthetics.
[00:51:38] I just had like a couple tattoos and it's like that.
[00:51:41] So I well deserved.
[00:51:43] I mean, this whole side by universe, this is my first side by project.
[00:51:46] And I'm just realizing how much work goes into this.
[00:51:50] And it's amazing.
[00:51:52] That's cool.
[00:51:54] Yeah, it is amazing.
[00:51:57] I mean, it's all about the same.
[00:52:00] You know, the guys, you know,
[00:52:03] you're not going to have a season board.
[00:52:06] They board you.
[00:52:07] They did everything to you, right?
[00:52:09] I mean, what happened to me?
[00:52:11] It's right.
[00:52:12] No.
[00:52:13] Sydney shouldn't be phased by anything.
[00:52:15] Nothing.
[00:52:17] Nothing at all.
[00:52:18] You already been assimilated.
[00:52:20] You know, like come on.
[00:52:22] Yeah.
[00:52:23] I said, not really.
[00:52:27] Well, sis, I want to thank you so much for being on the show.
[00:52:30] Thank you for your time.
[00:52:32] Thank you for Sydney.
[00:52:34] Yes.
[00:52:35] Yeah.
[00:52:36] Thank you for Sydney.
