I like to say that I first learned about science fiction was when I could reach the on/off knob of my parent's TV set. Since then, I have always loved sci-fi and especially Star Trek. I was there on September 8th, 1966 to watch the first episode and I have enjoyed it ever since.
I guess being someone over the age of 65, I can offer some age old insight into this genre when I meet and discuss science fiction with my friends and fellow members of The Big Sci-fi Podcast. And, being a part of the Trek Geeks family, it has allow us to share our insights into this fascinating form of fiction. This is why I love the optimism of science fiction: because one day, it will become science fact. We just need patience.
