Trek Geeks #220: Lost Audio from Kingsland

It’s only taken us four years but this week on Trek Geeks, we’ll right a grievous error.

If you recall our 100th episode, “A Journey to Future’s Past, Part I: Beaming Aboard Star Trek Continues,” we told the story of our trip Kingsland, Georgia and visit to sets of this legendary fan film series. We told you about the people we met and how our love for The Original Series had been rekindled. We brought you a story of family. It was the most ambitious episode we’ve ever done: an audio documentary in the style of National Public Radio, and it’s become a favorite among Trek Geeks listeners. It was an episode we still get feedback about, and it even led to us being a finalist for the Parsec Awards.

It was our every intention to bring you part two of that story, and then CBS started making more Star Trek. They launched Discovery and we started a second podcast. Then we started a network. Now with eight Star Trek series in some form of production, we decided that we needed to bring you the conversations from Day 2 of our trip.

So, in this episode, you’ll hear from Grant Imahara, Wyatt Lenhart, and our dear friend Kasey Shafsky. Plus, we’ll also have some audio of our final walkthrough of the sets before we said goodbye to the Starship Enterprise for the last time.

Plus, find out about our charity livestream with Jonathan Frakes from Star Trek: The Next Generation coming up on June 11th! Get all the details!
